BGC 2023 WR/PTP Thread

He might be quick like Edelman but he does not run routes like Jules. Maybe he can learn.
Some recent news on Tank Dell @ the Senior Bowl just a little FYI. I hope he's on the Patriots WR Draft board. I know he's on the smaller side but could be the next Wes Welker walking first down.

I didn't realize that the Senior Bowl was taking place so close to the Shrine Bowl. Guess that guys who shine well at the Shrine Bowl won't be getting a call to show up for the Senior Bowl as has happened in the past.

Not a surprise to me that Trey Palmer and Tre Tucker have posted the fastest WR speeds so far in Senior Bowl practices. As far as my other guy of note, disappointed in Iosivas so far, speed wise, and a drop in the EZ in 11v11.

Tank Dell at 5083 / 163 makes me nervous.

Dell's even shorter than I thought... He had been listed at 5'10" before this week...

5'8" tall and 163 lbs. is not an NFL player. Maybe Dell was good in college, but he will snap in two quickly in the NFL. 163 lbs.? Seriously? Edelman was 195 lbs at the combine. What was Welker weight at the combine? You guessed it - 195 lbs. as well. 163 lbs? Over 30 lbs lighter than Welker and Edelman? Anyone that thinks 163 lbs. lasts long in the NFL, no matter how shifty and quick they are, is NUTS!!!!

If the Patriots spend a high draft pick, like the second round, on a WR like Tennessee’s Cedric Tillman, is that an indication they should have drafted George Pickens last year?

Short Answer: No.

Adding Trey Palmer's 10.42 100m to the HS speed list. Couldn't get it going 1st 3 years at LSU then broke out after transferring to Nebraska. He's set to play in the Senior Bowl. Found him while doing research on Zakhari Franklin (who has Terry Glenn sized hands, supposedly).

Side note: looking 3 years down the road at HS Sr Malachi Coleman. 6'4" 190lbs and ran a 10.46 100m
Fun to see Malachi Coleman's name brought up in this forum being from Nebraska. NU went through quite a bit of drama in his recruitment process. I will be interested to see how his career unfolds. With that frame and speed he got benched in Nebraska High School football where the average receiver is 5'10 and runs a 5.1! We shall see..

Interesting Trey Palmer looks like a Draft Steal what's not to like. Jim I know he's on the light side but Tank Dell will be uncoverable on the next level on his moves alone. Tank Dell can eat as much junk food as he wants he has room for it. I am really liking this WR class a lot of good players who will be available on Day 2 and Three. I hope we do our homework and Double dip.
More Nebraska insight here....LOVE Trey Palmer. Our QB situation at NU this year was real tough after our starter got hurt. He was putting up numbers when qb was healthy. Loved watching him play.

Based on what I saw, Trey had a great week of practice at the Senior Bowl. Disappointed but kindof a little happy that he didn't play in the Senior Bowl (assuming non-injury). My a-hole side hopes he tests "poorly" (>mid 4.4s), so Pats can grab him in the 4th/5th. I have a feeling he's gonna rise after the combine though.

For me it’s gone from Tank Dell to Zay Flowers.

No idea why people like Tank Dell. Just another tiny guy. Zay Flowers on the other hand is electric, from the slot or deep. Twists his body to catch the ball and create yards after the catch. So quick, so smooth, so fast. Amazing really.

Looking at Tank Dells Stats, I go to Football Database. And thing that struck me is he had no catches if 20 or more yards this year or last. Small guy in the NFL going only for YAC or RAC, is tough. If anybody has something different, please Post.

Don't know if I'd take any of them at 14; but at 46 I would strongly consider the first eight (up to & including Rashee Rice)...

That's an NFL move right there I think he beats Revis in his prime with that move wow! I am really liking Trey Palmer.

Nope. At 163 lbs., or 156 lbs., or whatever lbs., Dell is too light and slight. Dell is a great college player that will be like Braxton Berrios in the NFL - insignificant.

People said that Wes Welker was "insignificant" when the Pats went to sign him. I can remember people all over this board screaming for BB's head for trading a 2nd round pick for Welker. How'd that turn out?

What's to say that Dell can't be a DeSean Jackson type receiver?

So, because a particular column wasn't filled in you think that he didn't have ANY catches of 20+ yards? You don't seem to realize that 20+ isn't broken down by YAC vs Air yards. Not in College. Not in the Pros.

Did you look at the LONGEST Column? That shows the LONGEST reception he had in each game. So he had a MINIMUM of 9 receptions of 20+ yards in 2022 and a MINIMUM of 12 receptions of 20+ yards in 2021.

What does it say about you that you can't figure out something as simple as that.

Berrios that mediocre player really?? Listen Tank Dell is a jitter bug type player who's going to be a match up nightmare on the next level. One thing that impresses me about this WR draft class is how some of these guys separate. I mean look at our skill Position players Parker is league worse in separation and Bourne is nothing special TThornton it remains to be seen. Mac need WR's who give him easy throwing windows and other than Meyers that's all folks.
