Not sure how we get out of it without a big QB upgrade or Bill completely changing his philosophy and be willing to pay a genuine elite WR $25m a year and put serious investment into weapons.

You either need an elite QB or if you have an average QB the supporting cast has to be elite, changing the OC isn't going to turn this current group into anything other than middle of the pack at best.

I think they built Mahomes' contract to be restructured several times. The cap hit floats around $40M to $50M for the next 9 years but zero guaranteed dollars past 2024. They'll restructure him to create cap and push money to future years where the cap is higher.

It's really Josh Allen whose contract is about to bite them, going from $16M cap hit this year to almost $40M in 2023.
