Wait a minute. Patriots DO have speed. Agholor + Thornton....You know we don't have much speed if they need to insert Marcus Jones

This.Tom Landry got too old for the game and the Boys flamed out. Shula fared better but declined too.
Bill put the talent on the field. He buys the groceries.
The Pats need better position coaching. The talent level has improved after several years of mediocre drafts. Bill adapted there and he needs to adapt as a coach. If he’s going to do less he needs better and more position coaches with both the ability to coach/teach and position knowledge. No more Matt Patricia/Joe Judge nonsense. It was embarrassingly stupid.
If I’m Bob Kraft my first question is why have all of the Patriots strengths become weaknesses: special teams, linebacker, halftime adjustments, position coaching, penalties and a bunch of other areas. If I don’t get a satisfactory answer, then I move on if I have a guy I really, really think is the guy. This is the Krafts’ product and it has become very average. They don’t seem to me to be people who do average.
Godwin seems like the more likely trade candidate. Evans only saves them $2M in cap space if he's traded and $21M dead cap space, whereas Godwin would save them almost $9M in cap space and $15M dead cap.I like Goodwin here. But I’ll take evens if I have to. Haha
I thought Mac had a good game, toward the end he tried to force too many things. Is he in the same category as Allen, no. Every time I watch Allen, I am more impressed. Just a great talent, a top 2-3 qb...you can debate Mahomes, Allen or Burrow, but I am really impressed with Josh Allen.
Would anyone have noticed if he played?Jonnu did not even play in the final regular season game! This says it all...
Probably gonna be extremely costly. Coming off back to back 1k seasons and averaging 100 catches the last 2 years.Godwin seems like the more likely trade candidate. Evans only saves them $2M in cap space if he's traded and $21M dead cap space, whereas Godwin would save them almost $9M in cap space and $15M dead cap.
1st-10 @ BUF21, third quarter, tied score. It wasn't desperation time at all but Mac treated it like it was. Really costly INT there. The second INT he forced a very low percentage throw too.
Thornton yes, he can get separation. But they need a legit slot guyWait a minute. Patriots DO have speed. Agholor + Thornton....
Trade for Hopkins.Godwin seems like the more likely trade candidate. Evans only saves them $2M in cap space if he's traded and $21M dead cap space, whereas Godwin would save them almost $9M in cap space and $15M dead cap.
How would you grade the last big free agent spend? Can’t separate BB the HC (who is absolutely still good enough) from BB the GM/personnel manager (who badly botched both the coaching staff and that expensive FA class of colossal busts) .
Mac showed something today he hasn't shown all season. Massive changes are necessary all around.
But that's the next step for Mac, right? Make "that" play to when it's all on the line.Mac was better today than early season, making a number of good throws. The first int was the one that occurred when the game was in the balance. The others were desperation throws where a miracle was needed due to time remaining. Watching all the other teams big plays are made by the receiver taking the ball away or separating from the DB. Agholor did nothing to compete for the ball or prevent the int.
Josh worked with the QB guru after his 1st year. That was his pivotal point in becoming what he is now.
Can Mac do the same?
Hopkins is the first guy I think of, but since Bill O'Brien seems like a likely OC candidate for next year, that probably kills any chance of a Hopkins trade.Trade for Hopkins.
It was funny when Romo talked about one of the interceptions taking forever to land because it reminded me of all of Mac's throws. He's limited in what he can do because the ball takes so much damn time to get to the receiver. He's shown me all I need to see. His arm is just not franchise quarterback level. The fact that BB drafted him....it's almost like McD picking Tebow in Denver.
What a joke. We need an offensive coach. BB was great when the NFL was more physical, defensively intimidating league but not in this league right now the way it is today.
Yeah I wonder what the comp would need to be. Salary is not too bad but only for 2 years.Probably gonna be extremely costly. Coming off back to back 1k seasons and averaging 100 catches the last 2 years.
Clearly Mac has to be involved in some of those plays to make the next tier. He needs receivers. As Sophie says "Mackie can't throw the ball and catch it'.But that's the next step for Mac, right? Make "that" play to when it's all on the line.
