Veteran linebacker Chad Brown, who spent four games with the Patriots this season before he was cut, was spotted at Gillette Stadium today.

Brown's presence could be tied to the health status of outside linebacker Rosevelt Colvin, who left Sunday night's game with a foot injury.

Brown spent 2007 training camp with the Patriots and was cut before the season began. He was re-signed Sept. 12 and played in a reserve role against the Chargers on Sept. 16. Brown was inactive for the next three games before he was released Oct. 10. He had not hooked on with another team

Not good news for Colvin. If he is IR'd, could be that his days as a Patriot are over.

Re: Chad Brown siting

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Chad Brown siting

Oh boy, that's not good. Especially inside as Thomas would likely move outside I think - although we have better depth outisde.

Re: Chad Brown siting

I'm not getting a warm fuzzy feeling here.......can Troy Brown play OLB?

Re: Chad Brown siting

Hopefully, he's there because he forgot to pick up his last paycheck.

Re: Chad Brown siting

....so how many good lbs do you all think are walking the streets these days? They clearly need a body. Chad knows the system. What are you expecting?

a good LB?

Re: Chad Brown siting

If Chad Brown has to start in our system I'd say that our offense better get ready for some shootouts.

*nightmare flashbacks, nightmare flashbacks*

Actually, as long as the name Monty Beisel doesn't come up, I think we'll be alright.

;)

We are screwed!!!!

I was thinking the same thing...ouch!

Re: Chad Brown siting

maybe BB told some intern kid to go get Troy Brown and he fooked it up?

Activate Troy Brown? I thought you said activate Chad Brown.

The question now becomes "How durable are Seau and Bruschi?"

Colvin-Bruschi/Seau-Thomas-Vrabel becomes

Thomas-Seau-Bruschi-Vrabel , I'd assume.

If those four can stay healthy long enough for Colvin to get right, I think we'll be fine.

But that's the tough part about a 3-4 with old linebackers. Age brings on injuries.

Then again, we do have the DL depth to run a 4-3 if need be.

Thomas-Seau/Bruschi-Vrabel
Jarvis/Wright-Seymour-Wilfork-Warren

It is good to have depth at multiple positions.

Re: Chad Brown siting

Chad Brown is better than playing 11 on 10.

We are screwed!!!!

Yeah, our track record after a key injury is pretty dismal. A real shame what could have been if everyone stayed healthy.

I hope no one was injured in the long jump to this conclusion.
We bring players in often.
We bring in a LB and all of a sudden Colvin is going on IR because he MAY have had a foot injury.

actually he may have an arm injury...unless the Pats docs are so bad they where checking his arm when he said his foot was hurt.

it's a blast was BB does with the injury system :D

i'm surprised that NO ONE here, even mentioned Pierre Woods. He is leading the Specila teams in tackles, and is in his sophomore year. I have seen him get reps as a OLB to give others a blow. I think y'all are overlooking a potentially good player, especially as he steps up in a platoon.:D
