It's the product of too many people expecting the Pats to blow away every team they play. It's what is wrong with the "we will be 19-0 without any shadow of a doubt" mentality.
It could happen, but I wouldn't bet a month's pay on it (or against it for that matter- that's how uncertain it is in my mind).
Fans, especially bandwaggoners, get ungrateful very quickly and show a high degree of hubris. "How dare anyone be nearly as good as the Pats? That can't be right! Ah, the Pats must have sucked".
The Eagles played bloody well and could have won the game. They put together a great game plan and exploited some of the Pats' weaker points.
Surely they deserve some credit for running us close, as the Colts did. The NFL is more competitive than some people imagine. We have had some amazing victories but we should not forget that we do not have the monopoly on great players or coaches.
The important point is that the Pats passed for over 300 yards and won. They still look good for the Superbowl.
