Refs just gifted the Ratbirds a 1st and Goal. The fix is in. Wow

Ok. If anyone believes in league fixing, which you shouldn't because grow up, then there isn't the faintest chance in hell in any dimension that it would be fixed against the Pittsburgh Steelers getting into the playoffs. As far as business is concerned the league would love it if the Cowboys, Steelers, and Giants made deep playoff runs every single season.

Tourch bearer
He got blown out in a Super Bowl by Brady's team. He doesn't have his torch (not tourch). He'll have to win several more rings (but won't with Allen and Burrow in his way), not just compile stats in a league that keeps bending rules to inflate everyone's numbers.

Allen, Burrow, Herbert, and don't count out Lawrence causing trouble too.

First, head-to-head is a stupid way to compare players. This is especially true in a game where all 53 guys on the team have important roles. You and the other Bucs fans have been whining all season long about the Bucs offensive line, but when it comes to Mahomes playing without 3 starting offensive linemen in the super bowl, it doesn't seem to matter...

Second, can Brady ever get to a career super bowl rating of over 100 like his idol Joe?

Oh, i spelled it correctly…. You are clearly not aware of the KC who came in here to proclame a ‘tourch’ being passed on after a NE playoff win vs KC.

Brady like any true winner would happily have a Big Ben Super Bowl XL QB Rating if it meant a ring.

Oh, I vaguely remember that now. My bad.

You think Brady can play an entire career without ever going into the shotgun (like Montana) and win 4 rings?

Time to ignore another honk

Sounds like a good topic for the Brady board. Maybe you should start a thread.

You're essentially crediting Montana for not being good enough to reach the Super Bowl another 6 times. Using a small sample size of 4 (relative to Brady's 10) is just stupid.

And I'm not even going to bother wasting my time searching for the posts you've written to mock Brady for "losing to x QB" this year. We've all seen them. You conveniently believe in that until you don't.

And the biggest complaint about the Bucs is regarding Leftwich's play calling. Their OL isn't awful, but injuries there made it far harder on an exclusively pocket-QB like Brady. The injuries they had may actually be manageable if they had an all-time great offensive mind like Andy Reid game planning. Regardless, Brady still has 4.6K yards and some incredibly clutch moments throughout the year in spite of that, and injuries at numerous other positions.

You can't make that comparison, especially when Montana had to deal with historically good teams in the NFC like the Bears, Giants, and Redskins. In fact, as a Niner, Montana's only loss in the playoffs to a bad team was in 87 to the Vikings. The other losses were teams that either won the super bowl the year before (defending SB champs), the team that went onto to win the super bowl that year, or the team that went on to win the super bowl the following year. And take any of Brady's best 4 super bowls and his average quarterback rating won't match up to Montana's 127 average.

also, maybe if bother to do some research and watch QBs prior to 2000, you'd realize the game is very different now. The highest scoring teams in the NFL in recent years have about 100 more points than the highest scoring teams of the early 90s. In other words, the league is very QB friendly and benefits guys like Brady and Mahomes.

So Brady beating Mahomes is reason to thump your chest, but Brady losing to Manning and Foles should be ignored?

Bummer

He's also about to set a record for most passing attempts in NFL history in a single year...there is a reason why he has so many passing yards. But I realize math isn't your strongsuit.

Too bad, I just made the comparison (actually you brought up Montana, but I just added some context). Brady has made 10 Super Bowls and Montana made 4. Not my fault he wasn't good enough to make 10. Poor guy, that Montana fellow, having to deal with historically good teams (like his own) in a no-salary-cap era.

So Brady beating Mahomes is reason to thump your chest, but Brady losing to Manning and Foles should be ignored?
It's not ignored. Thank God (for you) for those Manning and Foles losses, or else Brady would have 10 Super Bowls instead of a measly 7. Somehow, I'm sure you'd still be here, acting like Brady is a fraud for being accepted as the unanimous best QB to ever play.

I would hope so. The Bucs have one of the worst running games in NFL history. Of course they've had to throw it way more (including quick passes & screens as running alternatives). Something like 40 of Godwin's receptions alone this year have come on quick screens, a stat they mentioned a week ago.

Yes, and it's a lazy comparison. You forgot to mention that teams in the 80s didn't have free agency. Also, Montana only had Rice for 6 years as compared to Brady who had Gronk for 11 years.

We can play this in many different ways. At least half of Brady's super bowls were other teams shooting themselves in the foot (Carolina, Seattle, Atlanta). Montana won all his cleanly without help from the other team (and ZERO interceptions). In fact, go back to Super Bowl 24 vs the Broncos - he won 55-10 and got pulled early in the 4th quarter.

That's nice. He also led the league in passing attempts last year and had a much better running game. Anything else?

I'm here for the Brady debate.

Eh, there's nothing else to talk about with the Steelers and Ravens game going on
