It’s interesting to be in a position where we are rooting for other teams’ games almost as much as our own. Brings back some memories.

Is it possible for the Patriots to finish second if them and Miami are tied in records?

Yes if we finish with a better division record. So it would depend on how the rest of the divisional games go. We have Miami and Buffalo. Miami has us and NYJ. If we up tied in divisional record they have us in common opponents . So first we have to beat them and then hope we can beat Buffalo OR they lose to NYJ.

Other than the Ravens/Browns game, Saturday games didn't disappoint. What a great day of football

I left at halftime of the Colts-Vikings game to run errands, assuming what seemed obvious. I returned home to see 19 seconds left in overtime and my jaw dropped.

We're better off having Miami lose, no way we're catching Buffalo but with a win tomorrow we have the same record as Miami.

All true, but better to be lucky etc. We don't seem good enough but crazy things happen all the time. We didn't even touch Murray and he tore his acl. Maybe the entire Dolphins team pulls their hamstring looking at us the wrong way lol.

Pats win tomorrow and they’re tied, but lose the tiebreaker for now. They’ll play the Dolphins week after next week though. Even if the Pats lose to Cincinnati after Vegas, if they beat Miami they’ll tie again and overtake them in the tiebreaker due to a better conference record.

I can see a scenario where the Bills play the Patriots in the final week with nothing to play for on their side, and rest their starters not just for health but also because they fear the Patriots less than the Dolphins and letting the Patriots win ensures the Dolphins would be knocked out of the playoffs (assuming the Chargers and Ravens/Bengals were holding the other two seeds).

the Choltkers only had 3pts in the 2nd half didnt help, they scored too early. After the vikes got to 21pts i was like uh ohh…

Yes, but let's say the Pats then lose to the Bengals next week and the Dolphins beat the Packers, and then they face each other head to head the week after that. If the Pats beat the Dolphins, they'd be tied again but would then win the tiebreaker because of conference record.

Really it just comes down to the Pats needing to win this week OR next week, and then winning the Dolphins game, to pass the Dolphins. Of course, then that means the final week becomes pretty important, but the Bills have a chance to lay down for that one if the Chiefs aren't threatening their seeding.
