Because they don't have enough to make it to Dec 17th?They clearly think they have the cap to handle it. Why stress over the last pennies of this year's cap it's not like they gonna go buy OBJ or something at this point.
What happens then?Because they don't have enough to make it to Dec 17th?
What I said, they'll have to restructure/extend someone else. Just makes timing of this extension non-sensical. Bill doing Fat Matt a favor, obviously. What happens then?

1/8 the cap hit of Jonnu next year who is earning about $300k/catch this year, a bargain compared to Agholor's $500k/ catch pay out2.2 million a year, that's high end back up or low end starter money. Sounds about right he's a guy I hope is on the bench cuz you have better but it's not the end of the world if he's playing 20-30 snaps a game.
Tavai is now the 84th highest paid LB. Not sure 84th is low end starter money. In 2024, when Tavai is making the same average salary, he will not be in the Top 100 paid LBs. Pretty much a role player, special teamer, and only a starter in emergencies.2.2 million a year, that's high end back up or low end starter money. Slater has made about $5.3m over the last two years. Tavai’s deal seems pretty good to me. Obviously, they also need a stud LB.Tavai is now the 84th highest paid LB. Detroit fans got sick of this player. But Patricia Carrie’s weight. A second-rounder from Hawaii. A shock I know.
Not my favorite player, but he has exceeded my expectations. Thankfully it wasn't Myles Bryant. Thoughts??
They're all still going to laugh at you! That was an odious autocorrect. I fixed “Carrie’s.”
Only a starter in emergencies is fine but he's averaging 55% of the defensive snaps and peaked at 79%. He's a liability with that much usage.Tavai is now the 84th highest paid LB. Peaked at 79%, averages 55%, what is his low point %? With Wilson and McMillan starting to play well, what is Tavai's recent usage % versus previous? Hopefully McGrone is playing next year which will reduce Tavai's playing time further. Being outside the Top 100 LBs in payscale and playing 40%ish, is great value. He is athletic but not fast so is great for run support and special teams.Only a starter in emergencies is fine but he's averaging 55% of the defensive snaps and peaked at 79%. They always lock up 2nd tier versatile LBs. Been doing it for 20 years.
