Fields will be no Wilson. Who, yeah, won a SB because his defense.
That said, I think we can all acknowledge that Mac isn’t playing well this year.
I say go no huddle, hurry up offense at least 3-5 drives a game
Somehow I can't picture Belichick leaning back in his easy chair tonight, smoking a cigar while basking his mind in the accomplishments of his 4-4 team.
Well... maybe after passing Halas, but the point remains.

Mac isn't but it's his second year and he was hurt for 3 games. Josh Allen wasn't Josh Allen his first couple of years either, they have to give Mac some time to mature, he may not be the answer and maybe Zappe is, maybe neither are but you have to give him time. We're in a rebuild year, rebuilds aren't linear.

Seeing teams Turn to Ehlinger, Heineke is very much the kind of player Zappe is.
Those quick release smaller read the defense make smart play QBs are starting to get noticed.
Both Ehlinger and Heinke have a arm but the argument to supplant Jones is valid.

We disagree. Mac tucked it. He was going to run. He was not looking to throw initially. Until he saw the spy. I agree it's an RPO. But it's badly designed.
Even if Henry is looking for a pass here, the timing is wildly bad. He's looking for a throw BEFORE Mac has even turned to make the decision to run or not. Why is Henry in the same space as Meyers?
I put this 100% on Patricia. You have to let the run play out first since it's the easiest way to get a yard.
I couldn't find his numbers out of play action. But they can't be great if they are running it so little. Especially with the advantage it gives the offense.
You are talking about a rookie with 1/2 of bad play against a Bears team that came prepared. Zappe has played better than Mac in every game.
Mac isn't doing a lot of things well since the Colts game from last season. Just look at thr results, he has over double INT to TD's. Zappe is running the offensive concepts much more efficiently than Mac even with the 1/2 against the Bears where he fell apart. But rookies are going to have rookie games sometimes.
So you have no idea how Jones does in play action, but you know he sucks at it. Just admit you are just using your biases to project what you think as fact.
No one knows why Patricia isn’t using play action with Jones. He hasn’t used it very much with Jones all year. So it isn‘t like they used it a lot and Jones failed at it.
But let’s go with Zappe is the better QB and Belichick would rather play the QB who gives him the better chance to lose because Belichick believes in fairness and gives Jones the start because it would be embarrassing for a first round pick to be benched for a fourth rounder.
Teams haven’t developed a book on Zappe. Once they do, they will game plan specifically for him if he ever starts again. Once they do, Zappe could be completely exposed as he was in the second half last week. People are putting way too much stock on a very small sample size for Zappe against mediocre defenses.
If you so much as breath on a QB that becomes a roughing the passer penalty. That's what was called today.
Tackling QBs has been reduced to Touch football. That was barely a love tap @:55 mark. I'll take it even though it was unjustified because it helped us win. But that doesn't change the fact that Mac Jones made a HORRIBLE decisionand throw that was only saved by the referees throwing the yellow flag there.
Well, I mean, if we're talking about almost, we can also say he almost had zero interceptions today. But yes, he could have had 3, or anywhere between 0 and 3.

He hit Jones well after he got rid of the ball. That was a penalty 20 years ago. You can’t hit a QB after he has thrown the ball. That has always been the rule. And launching at a QB has been a penalty for a long while.
And the INT was a miscommunication between Jones and Meyers on an option route. Although I am inclined to blame Jones for it, it could have been Meyers fault.

I don't think he launched. He wasn't late. He didn't hit him really really hard. But he saw the ball was away and he elected to go high. You can't see it from the back angle but Mac's helmet snapped forward. He was hit on the back of the neck and the helmets connected.
