Sources close to the couple reveal the exes had attended couple’s therapy as a way to save their marriage.

“Things got so bad after Deflategate that they could barely speak to each other,” revealed an insider. “Tom got irritable under the stress, and she started blaming him for all their unhappiness, much of which was there before the scandal. Counseling was her ultimatum.”

I don't give a crap for their personal lifes but I kinda got sad with the confirmation, I thought when all these talks started that it was more gossip than anything and they would stay together in the end but it didn't.

A marriage like this is more complicated to dissolve than a company with many partners. So to get to this point this isn't something new and they probably have been hitting that door for a while until decided it was enough.

They have their personal reasons, I'm not sure this is football related but it probably was a huge factor. I don't blame Gisele for wanting Tom to retire after supporting him for years and I don't blame him for pursuing greatness and keep playing until fall into pieces, but I can't help but think he had a good situation in New England. Nice place, nice education environment for the kids. This move to Florida, while he won another ring, it seems it didn't bring many good things for him. 1. Married an international model that brought him added fame;
2. Opened doors he probably never would've reached, especially internationally;
3. Got the missus to rear his kids at the peak of his career;
4. Sure, he had to put up with the sh*t but the sex made it worth it;
5. Now he's a free man ready to start the next chapter in business, broadcasting, movies, etc.
6. Oh yea, he managed to win 4 SBs in the meantime.

Not a bad 13 years. Smart man. Can't wait to see who he lands next. Probably a movie star. Someone independant enough that they can each have their careers w/o all the drama. Doubt he ever gets married again. Why would he.

This is exactly what I was speculating about over the summer...surprised it took the media this long to connect the dots. Gisele was supposedly ok with Brady coming back this year, probably with the assumption this would be his last (as had been the plan all along). Then the reports came out during TC that Miami had been tampering with Brady. Gisele likely confronts Brady because she had no idea of his interest in Miami and asks him if this year is really his last. Brady probably tells her no and that he is considering playing for the Dolphins next year and things between the two go south from there. In a marriage you can't be sneaky about this sort of thing...got to be up front and honest with your spouse. If Brady was being sneaky, I don't blame Gisele for pushing for the divorce.
