Report: Brady and Gisele are Divorcing

Wouldn't have saved his marriage. Brady didn't become the Goat from sitting on a coach. He's a detailed oriented workaholic. You just can’t turn that off. If it's not playing football, his mind and attention would be on something else.

Pretty clearly Gisele hoped that he would turn his mind and attention towards raising his children, but Tom wasn't into that.

Giselle wanted him to change into something he's not.

Eventually he won't be a football player. The contention was around when that would happen.

Sad day for their family, but this wasn’t just because he came back. Even Giselle said in her statement they’ve grown apart. Zo said on the radio that he’s heard she’s not easy to live with.

Oh I wouldn't just blame one party. A marriag/divorce takes two people. I'm sure there's a lot more to things than people know that have been brewing for a while now. Good luck to both of them, but none of my business in what goes on in their personal lives.

I would imagine this has been very distracting for Brady. The split with his spouse is one thing but the disruption to his relationship with his kids and their lives generally has got to be extremely difficult. I would imagine a significant transition for everyone involved. I've got to believe this has taken away from Brady's mental preparedness for football games this season. Hopefully with the mini-bye he can take a few days for a mental reset and get himself back on task fully with the football stuff. His personal affairs are his business but he has a huge professional obligation to meet as the quarterback and leader of this Bucs team.

I didn’t mean it to seem it was only her to blame. They grew apart, it happens. His dedication to football, her being tough to live with, and likely a bunch of other things led to them splitting.

Guessing they are both a handful. But they are both very successful at what they chose to do and sometimes excelling st the peak of a profession means that there are challenges elsewhere.

Per NESN the divorce is agreed upon and papers signed. That was actually pretty clean if that’s the case, people were gearing up for months of drama.

Yeah it is hilarious how the tabloids were already reporting how contentious things already were and were going to be. Now that the divorce is final and property has been equitably distributed, there's really nothing left to report on.

As far as we know, it was all fine through the NE days, and up to the Tampa SB season, and it seems from that point on it was all about her wanting more help raising the kids and him wanting to keep playing football. They made mutually supportive statements on their anniversary in February which was during the brief retirement period ( Tom Brady reveals ‘very difficult issue’ of retirement he and Gisele struggle with ). If there was tension then, neither would cop to it. Every source I've read said the sh!t hit the fan when he unilaterally decided to un-retire in March.

If that was the truth, why retire in the first place? His agreement to retire then his decision to un-retire just makes him look like he is the selfish one that caused the divorce. He blasted the retirement decision across all his social media channels. If he had his doubts, he was a fool for doing that.

Maybe he retired because he thought he could save the marriage and when it became clear he could not he decided football was the best thing for him to do.

Zolak (who knows so much more about Brady then he lets on, I mean the man texts him personally) specifically said today point blank on the air that this was building up for years and if the unretirement was a “finale straw” it’s because it was already beyond saving and neither was happy at all anyway. I think Rain Maker is right that this has been a long simmering issue between them... it probably does have it's roots in Boston and as you point out the unretirement sent it to the next level...

I honestly feel bad for the guy... All he does is want to compete... hard to step off that field... Once you do, there's no coming back...
