You can't sit a 1st round draft pick just because a 4th round pick had a couple or decent games against bad teams ...nothing is worse with a 1st round QB than to shatter his confidence and make him think with every drop back pass he throws could be his last which could make Mac worse than better and could affect him a long time ......dumb azz move by Belichick IMO

If Mac is broken...its Bill who broke him by stubbornly refusing to get him an experienced QB coach and playing mind games with him tonight.
I think they need to bring in an experienced QB coach and stick with MAC and let him work his way through this. Pats need to know if MAC is their franchise QB or if they need to start over again with a new QB
We shouldn’t be acting like he broke the 2nd coming of Brady. Mac has always been an average qb. A guy you can get to the playoffs with if things break right but a guy who isn’t good enough to take a team all the way.
Mac is the one who came into the season with all the crap the Patriots were trying, and people noticed it was screwing him up. Zappe took over, played against bad teams and/or good matchups, and was given a much more QB friendly offense to run, while his defense had some good games. Tonight, in Jones' first game back from his high ankle sprain, when he probably shouldn't yet have been back on the field until the next game, people are judging him and finding him wanting.
Offense was just flat and bad, not much specific to say.
Defense had lots of plays that started out good then went very bad. Then whenever they made good plays, they followed it up with one bad enough to offset the previous play.
I don't know what the steps are to make things right but I'd be selling at the trade deadline.
Commit to Zappe, trade Wynn, trade Agholor, trade Mac in the off-season. Use your cap next year to build around Zappe and see what you can make happen.
No idea what the outcome of that would be but it’s one approach you could take.
you clearly go back to the kid that you considered the next long time starting QB when you picked him as your #1 - and that is Mac...even if I personally see Mac as a journeyman QB for his career,he has to be the choice over Zappe
Pissed on by the ****ty Bears at home. Belichick the GM and the coach continues to let this team down. Why on earth Mac got the start is beyond dumb. And he’s seriously running a professional football team out there with Bentley and Tavai as our middle linebackers giving up 250yards rushing. Mayo was out their in the offseason saying how the defense needed to get faster and those two lumbering oafs was the solution??
