As a Bills fan, Zappe scares me

Only time will tell (There's plenty of work for him to do)

Everyone take a swig of the reality elixir.
BB broke Mac a bit with the Bills wind game - fair enough. But he came out swinging this year despite a horrible start for the OL, a horrible start for a brand new OC, and a few untimely errors in the pass game (including by WR's). But if you erase from your short-term memory some of the incredible passes and precision plays he did have, then you fall into that trap that "the guy on the bench" is the next superstar. Zappe showed that he won't fold, but it's such an extreme leap to say he's proven anything like Mac did through most of last year. And when Mac comes back and looks better than the first 3 games everyone will get back on the wagon and say "the time off cleared his head".
Incredible passes and precision plays get erased quickly by a few bad decisions that produce INTs.

I'm still a huge fan of Mac, but he's gotta clean up his game or he could end up on the bench.

One thing BB preaches is the first step to winning football is not beating yourself.

This is also an argument why we shouldn't be calling for a QB change because a guy had 188 yards and 1 TD against the lions. People acting as if he threw 400 yards and 4 tds. Zappe is good but he's limited right now. But it's the NFL fanbase. If zappe has a poor game and loses vs the browns people will call for him to be cut....

Clearly they are calling the offense different now than they did in the beginning of the year having Mac throw up 50-50 deep balls. They are running more and the OL seems to have been playing better. If they called this offense with Mac Jones. I'd say we put up over 40 on the lions.
I am not comparing Zappe to Brady, but I would like to point out, Brady ran a very Zappe like conservative offense when he took over for Bledsoe.

There were a lot of real short “dinks & dunks”, screen passes & a lot of Antwan Smith running the ball.

I remember a coworker Brady hater & Bledsoe worshipper complaining that Brady couldn’t throw the ball down field.

I still send this guy an annual email with a link to Bledsoe throwing a pick6 to the King
From BK & I also attach another link of the
Brady to Moss one handed catch over Revis, pointing out the Goat had an arm.

Yes, we are in agreement.

I think perhaps Mac has been too optimistic.

Maybe seeing someone else playing a game manager role within a limited game plan will help him understand he doesn't have to win the game with his arm, and that he can lose the game with his arm with a few bad throws.

I think Mac will start when healthy. It might be better if possible to keep Zappe as an undefeated QB threatening Mac's job rather than have him play a few bad games and then have two QBs with losing records.
Kudos for being proactive and getting your Zappe vaccine ahead of time.

But we had fun chanting yesterday.

... also the first step to getting girls...

What?

Zappe was throwing to wide open guys while playing against the worst defense in football. Please stop the nonsense

Bledsoe worship and flying elvis worship go hand in hand

Note: Drew's a good guy, played his heart out, threw for lots of yards

Just like Tony Eason

Let's no go overboard. Yesterday was textbook game management by Zappe.

==============>PLEASE NOTE THAT THAT IS NOT CRITICISM. <===============
====>SOMETIMES A QUARTERBACK DOESN'T NEED TO THROW THE BALL TO WIN. <====

The Patriots controlled the game from start to finish and dominated on the ground. Zappe did exactly what was asked of him. But I don't think we are quite at the point yet where he is striking fear into the heart of defenses around the League.

Apparently the Bills are starting to game plan for him today

There’s so much to like about Zappe’s game. Smart, throws with anticipation, pocket presence. Il excited to see if he can maintain this level of performance against real NFL defenses (unlike Detroit)….

He’s already the best back up since Matt Cassel as he’s finished two games without getting yanked out after a few drives like Hoyer and Stidum. Jimmy would’ve been above Zappe, but he barely played in NE.

Garrapolo is, and always has been, fragile. He’s really a good back up, I wouldn’t want to have rely on him as a starter.

If Zap starts launching TD passes like Josh Allen did yesterday it will be really hard to go back to Jones.
LOL Bailey Zappe and Josh Allen in the same sentence. That's quite the JOKE!

Bailey Zappe wins one game and suddenly he's the next Josh Allen? WOW!
