Report: Brady and Gisele are Divorcing

I'm not buying the notion she is raising the kids on her own.
I'm pretty sure he knows the way she feels. Wasn't that the reason why he initially retired, so he could be more present and more involved with their family? She's fed up about not being heard and as a female I can understand and relate to this. For me, it's sad that the kids are the ones that suffer the most. She'll be fine, he'll be fine, but the kids are the one's that pay the price. One of my closest friends just went through a divorce with a four year old daughter. Really sad and it hits close to home.

Just my thoughts.

Ok, but we don't know that...I would venture to guess that he's preparing his body and mind for the upcoming season on pretty much a daily basis. We know that football is not a 6 month per year job where you can go home after the season, eat like crap, don't exercise, and then comeback in August. It's possible (and likely) he's getting ready for the season outside of the home.

That could be part of it. I think he has major OCD with all-things football. The games. The practices. The preparation. Film study. The fame. TB12 and the brand. The money. It's consumed him. He can't turn it off and when he's tried he's still "not present". Once he does retire and at FOX it's rinse repeat. Football 24x7. Maybe he didn't tell her he wants to be part owner/GM of the 'Fins. Another rinse and repeat. Shes not his "true" love and it has driven her to this point. She doesn't see him changing.

In the past, Gisele said Tom's real spouse is football. I think there is some truth to that. Tom can't balance it and his efforts to do so have been in vain.
Personally, I think Tom is still playing because he doesn’t want to "leave any more super bowls on the field," so to speak. He's worried that 20 years from now he'll be kicking himself that he's still played at a high level and left the game. It's the curse of the TB12 method...it seems like it can prolong your career indefinitely.
Maybe. I just don't think it's quitting games that'll solve their problems.

I don't disagree. See my post to Mac10.

He wouldn’t be the first superstar pro athlete to have this happen. Football is your life from 14-45. How do you stop?

At this point the only opinion that matters is Gisele's and if we believe the rumors it's pretty clear she doesn't think he can do it.

I do believe Gisele believes he will retire this year but that doesn't mean football and its universe will take a back set to Gisele.

Brady has a lot of Michael Jordan psycho shi.t driving him. They’re cut from the same cloth. Hopefully with less gambling problems though.

That's a good point. I said earlier that I was surprised she didn't want to wait for him to finish this season. I always believed this was the last one.
But yeah...wouldn't surprise me if he has a tough time making even his kids his life priority over the game.

Nothing says "until death do us part" quite like a pre-nup.

Rover my man, I seem to recall a previous convo about not being the only one married to a redhead

Many moons ago when the mammoth roamed the plains and we were carving our vows on stone tablets I said to my beloved that I was fine with the traditional "...until death do us part." I got an early version of THE LOOK (long since perfected) followed up with: "You're not getting out of this that easy."

'We' settled on "and I will love you forever."

G has stated publicly she needs him to be more present to the family. Recently TFB signed a ~$350 million contract to do color commentary for TEN YEARS. This means away for weekends from September thru January. Maybe this was the final straw. She thought she could see light at the end of the tunnel only to realize it's the headlight of a long slow 10 year train.

I'm in the camp pf those whose job for 40 years had hours & days that prohibited them for being present far more than an NFL player. Best thing that ever happened to me was my CEO getting the Board to cashier me such that I unexpectedly retired at 59. Spent my 1st several years directly raising granddaughters and spending far, far more time with them than daughter's upbringing. I'll also say that the transition to suddenly being home all the time can put a new strain on a marriage at first.

It's hard. Millions of parents/spouses have a hard time balancing work and parental commitments (i.e "be present") and ensuring you have a fulfilling marriage. I'd be lying if I said I was the greatest husband and father 100% of the time. It's impossible. There has to be some sacrifice and compromise for the good of the union and the family with the spouse maintaining some kind of personal happiness/fulfillment.

One thing I can say is when it comes down to it, they are my priority, I do my best, i'm loyal to them and they know it.

From afar, if we believe the rumors, Gisele does not feel that way.

That’s interesting. Brees came out recently and said that being an analyst takes up just as much time as a player. I wonder how Aikman, Buck, Michaels, Romo, etc. make it work….

Tom needs to do @Brewskies proud and get with Kim Kardashian but she's too old. So he needs to get with Kendall Jenner who is a "model" but people still consider her a "Kardashian".
Nope, Ivanka will divorce Jared and then Tommy K will hook up with Ivanka. Donald J. wanted this all along.

So distilled down to football speak, you're saying the rumors have it that the lovely Gisele fell in love with thirtysomething off season Tommy but has reached the end of her rope finding herself now married to hardcore in season grizzled TFB?

Sounds like a remake of a bad baseball movie.

Something like half of all marriages end in divorce and I suspect that percentage is probably higher for people in the public eye. Getting divorced is not necessarily anyone's fault, sometimes people just grow apart (to be clear: sometimes it is one spouse's fault, but not always). Quite honestly, I think getting divorced is far more healthy than staying in a loveless marriage.
Marriage is a promise to stick it out for better or worse. I think people too easily run for the exits when they hit a speed bump. Sometimes a loveless marriage is because a person chose to make it that way but it doesn't have to be that way.

Other than someone doing something terrible or marriage ending, divorce should be a last resort once you've given it your best shot and are at the end of the line.

I think Brady and Giselle has given it their best shot. Their personality traits are just too similar,.. driven, ambitious, successful, glamorous, attention seeking, perfectionist, alpha,. etc perfectly describes both. They are so similar, in retrospect, you can see it was bound to cause a collision.

I guess you're saying football comes before your family and children right? It's ok for her to give up her career and stay at home with the kids, but not Tom.
You know what? Football isn't a couple hours entertainment on a Sunday for him like it is for the rest of us. Football is the man's life endeavor. It is his job. It is what he has dedicated his professional life to for over 20 years.

Does it come "before" family? No.... but the family should make concessions to the unique job he holds, and his unique place within that profession.

OMG, that would be insane. But I can only see it if Brady wants to run for president.
