What are your general thoughts on this subject, as it popped into my mind during lunchtime.

What do you bring to me today, dear PatsFan's members? (yes, that is my clue that I come in Peace so please let's be civil here)

PS - Moderation, do as you see fit with this thread. I get it.

Is there something you are aware of that you would like to share with the rest of the class?

Or just fishing?

Could there be an NBA style conspiracy here? I suppose it's possible, given that the asshats at 345 Park are completely devoid of a moral compass. But it would take a pretty substantial data aggregation, followed by analysis at a pretty granular level, and then comparing results across a few different time periods to even get an idea.

I'm honestly not sure it's worth the exercise unless things become egregious.

That's the thing right Nikolai... From the outside and in reality, it's not that hard to not make it egregious.

that's why this is more of a spiritual question.

What does your heart tell you?

My heart is too dumb and emotional, which is why I strive to stick to rational, cold logic for my opinions. If I had the time, or rather, if someone offered me enough money for my time, I'd be interested to investigate it analytically.

lol

Careful not to overload this brain my dude.

It's through emotions you let it all out (in a controlled way, pls)

I feel you. That's why I would need a long time to investigate. I've been hit in the head a lot in my time. I'm a bit slow these days

The combo of SB42, 2010 playoff loss, SB46, and the Murderer winning the Super Bowl left me catatonic. Then SB51 made me happy enough that I'll die happy as a Pats fan, even if we suck forever

heh, i get that. Compared to the other games, this one made me more comfortable with losing: We were never a match to Green Bay without Mac Jones, so going through the wire IS a victory

my 2 cents tho: The "cowardice" of the coaching staff is being noted by me - against the Bucs especially, I cannot let go of that FG. Still dont understand it. This game, same thing, in a way: pinned down against the endzone, hard to do it? yes. But impossible? Come on BB & Co. Show some Guts, if not now, when?

The Netflix "Untold" documentary on the NBA betting/Donaghy scandal is a must watch.

Officiating has always sucked. In the NFL, it would be far more difficult for a single corrupt ref to influence a game than in the NBA with Donaghy.

People are programmed to believe the League (and the officials) are out to get them and their team. It's pretty laughable when you think about it. Something in the human psyche wants to get outraged over systematically being treated unfairly.

People who genuinely think the game is rigged and still watch are psychopaths

There is a direct correlation between how much i want to win and the number of non-calls and ****ty calls we get... ergo, we get a f ck-ton of non-calls (i mean really, at least 4 times yesterday i saw the gb ol with their arms wrapped around matthew judons neck and no calls) and the inverse a sh t-ton of ticky tacky calls (parker v miami anyone?) ...

The squad we had yesterday was just a really bad, possibly JV group. they constantly mixed up offense and defense as teh folks who caused the penalty. numerous missed calls that went both ways. it was really poorly officiated.

Why wouldn't I watch the games I help fix then bet on. I am a psychopath, but that's not why.
