Last time I checked, I never once said Morris was better than Addain. Because he is NOT. Just like Maroney is NOT. Anyone who cannot see that is just not paying attention. YPC is OVERRATED. You think Brady would have 61 TDs without Moss? No. You think Brady would have a 131 QB rating if he was playing on Detroit? No. Guess what? You can't just throw one stat out there and say that is the reason why so and so is better than so and so. Use your eyes. I always thought and still think Brady is better than Manning. I didn't need this year's off the charts stats to convince me of that. Did you? When I watch Addai run I see a running back that can do it all. Hell, Rodney Harrison even said this guy is one of the top 3 backs in the league. The kid can run it inside, outside, catch the ball, get the tough yards, etc.... Sorry, that's what I see and it's pretty obvious. When I watch LT run I see a GREAT running back. I don't think he sucks because he has a 4.0 YPC this year. I've watched Maroney play 22 games. I have seen NOTHING in any of the games since last year in Cincinnati that he has made me say "Wow, this kid has some special skills". I've watched Addai play plenty of times and I think the kid is a top 5 back in this league. When I watch Adrian Peterson, my jaw drops. When I watch Marion Barber run, I say this kid is a TOUGH SOB. When I watch LoMo run, I yawn.
Maroney may be a great open field runner, but to get into the open field he's got to hit the line. He doesn't do that.
You mean protecting the ball on a kick-off return is not important?
I'm confused.
It's one of those unimportant things, like having a good YPC average when you're used sparingly on a team that prefers to pass because they average 40 points a game.
No, but some guys just aren't made for kickoff returns. Kevin Faulk is one of those guys. Does Kevin Faulk suck because he fumbles every now and then? No. He's still a great 3rd down back. Go to the Arkansas message board on rivals. They all say that McFadden only fumbles on kick returns and shouldn't be on kick returns anyway.
Can you comment on Laurence Maroney a little bit? He has high expectations being a first-round pick and some people might look at Joseph Addai in Indianapolis – and his production – and think Maroney might be a little bit of a disappointment. Do you see it that way?
“I don’t see it that way. We have the same expectations for Laurence. I would say Laurence’s role is determined on a weekly basis, much the same way the rest of our skill players are. If it’s a game where he should carry it 25 times or more, or less, than that’s what it’s going to be. If it’s more of a passing game, a play-action game, then he may not touch the ball quite as many times in the running game. We kind of let that play out. …”
Have you seen enough from him that if you do get into a 25-carry game for him, that you feel confident he would be able to answer that?
“Yeah, I think Laurence has played well. Just like everybody, there are things all of our players could do better. But I think Laurence is playing well. I think maybe the amount of time he’s played in certain games may make it seem like it’s not the case. But it is. He’s being productive when he’s in there. He had the foot come up last week, and he should be fine now. That was a reason why maybe he didn’t get as many snaps in the Buffalo game. When he’s in there, we’re happy with him. He’s doing his job. He’s also doing a good job in pass protection, which is something that for a rookie back last year was a significant point of emphasis coming into this season. He’s really stepped it up in that aspect too.”
I see. So fumbling doesn't matter because it's on a kickoff.
Kevin Faulk did suck when he was fumbling too much. Even this year, his ball security is better.
When McF fumbles during a game, you're going to say fumbling on Saturday is no indication of fumbling on Sunday because it's a different day.
and today mcdaniels is happy with maroney .

Ummm, and what do you expect him to say? When has a coach EVER badmouthed a player on this team? They never do.
Ok, so when he runs for TDS that doesn't mean squat because it's college and not the NFL. However, when he fumbles the ball running kickoffs(which he won't do in the NFL), than that is an indication he will fumble RUNNING the ball in the NFL? Yup, nice work professor.
"Maybe Larry Johnson should take the diapers off."

Do coaches not bad mouth their players or not?
