Do you believe we will be a super bowl contender with Mac?

Right now, no. But right now isn't the time to be asking. He deserves one more season after this.

I think he has ability, we’ve seen it. But the maddening thing is that he’ll like like 2010 Brady on one play, but then he’ll look like 1998 Ryan Leaf the next. It’s feast or famine right now. I don’t think the coaches have put him into the best position to succeed, ie bizarre playcalling, completely changing the offense in his 2nd year in the league, having him on an extremely short-leash his rookie year & almost having him play recklessly his 2nd year. I think you have to let Mac make more of his own decisions, even if they’re bad…it’s the only way he’ll learn.
It’s still really hard to tell what we have in Mac because I don’t know how much autonomy he has on most of these plays, or if he’s just told to target one guy on a particular play. I think you have to give him at least until the end of next year. Unfortunately Mac is in an almost no-win situation. He’s following the most successful person to ever play the position. I think the fact that guys like Mahomes, Herbert & Prescott IMMEDIATELY had an impact & huge statistics, that’s kind of the standard now for young QBs. Those three guys had multiple Pro Bowl WRs & TEs out of the gate. Yes Brady didn’t have stud WRs much of his time here, but Gronk is one of the greatest TEs ever, Julian Edelman was an outstanding slot WR & so was Wes Welker. Mac doesn’t have one guy to throw to that gives the defense pause, that scares the other team. Tua has Waddle & Hill, Allen has Diggs. He needs help to be his best self, he can’t do it by himself.
And here lies the real problem. Mac can be good but you need great to be a consistent SB contender. We're facing Allen, Mahomes. Herbert, Jackson etc in the AFC alone. We absolutely have to give him an elite weapon to play with. That's not even a debate imo.

The way that Jimmy is playing its obvious that BB can't draft a QB to save his axx.

Brady was a fluke. BB had no clue that Brady would be that good or he would have never let him linger for 6 rounds. If **** Rehbien begged BB to take Brady rounds earlier.

Quite frankly if the Pat's do have a bad season and draft high I don't want BB picking a QB for the future.

Typical response from someone whose DOA brainfart has been invalidated and has nothing more to say.

Lacking the physical tools to be elite?

Does he have less physical tools than Drew Brees? Peyton Manning? What does that mean?

90% of being a QB is between the ears.

He may never rise to that level. But he may. It's still early in his career.

Mac is going to be a helluva QB for us. I was more concerned after the Steelers win than yesterday's loss. I saw a plodding offense vs Pitt, but yesterday we were explosive. He scrambled and ran better than I've ever seen, he and Parker converted on 5 long passes, we saw his competitiveness, and it was a game we would've won but for Agholor's fumble. Even the EZ interception now appears to have been Parker's fault.

Don't think you were gonna get all the answers in year 2, I expected a drop off this year and through 3 its what we've gotten.

Probably too early, but I still think he's got a kirk cousins ceiling, FWIW.

I think it is too early to be sure. I cant analyse this as good as most posters but from a narrow view I am getting more concerned about who is surrounding Mac from a development perspective. Again this is just a feeling.

I don't agree that you need insane physical tools to win a SB. What you need is to take your team down the field again and again, score TD's when you get there, and don't turn it over. Yesterday he looked pretty dynamic to me, the offense went off for 450 yards.

The ankle really screws things up for Mac's development. Right now he seems as if he has regressed, when in reality he is being asked to do more without the same level of guidance from the coaches. Last year everyone was upset that he was captain check down, this year he sucks because he is taking more risks. I voted for Ray Lewis because I am most confident in that choice.

We can't make those WRs instantly appear to help Mac.

Even this year, from the point we picked, I'm not sure there's anyone I would've liked as much as Tyquan.

If we go 8-9 and pick 18th this year, we may not have a chance at one this year either. Unless you're willing to give up 3 #1 picks and $25m a year for Tyreek, it's hard to even trade for one of these guys.

That being said, I think it was a decent trade for the Phins.

He did move the ball, and the offense was much better. However, his decision making this year has been atrocious. 5 picks through 3 games and he's lucky there wasn't 2 or 3 more.

You don't need elite skills but if he continues to display decision making we've seen this year we're gonna be upset fans.

I did not make myself clear , its the coaching I meant .......sorry

Mac might even benefit from sitting and seeing what's gong

I'm agnostic on the coaching.

Not too sure.

I see Mac's degree of difficulty increasing a lot when it doesn't need to.

I wonder if Patricia's play design, especially when taking advantage of open space, is a problem.

I like his playcalling though.

But I don't know if his design is messed up.

The stats look worse than reality. It seems like Parker not reading the coverage was the cause of 1 interception yesterday and the last minute desperation does not really count. It is encouraging that Mac does not seem to let mistakes carry over to the next play so there is hope that he can learn and evolve past his current level of play.

I think he will be a solid starter, where the team around him needs to be really strong to succeed. Its an era unfortunately, where that is really hard to do and the quarterback carries a ton of the load.

After each rough game, Mac tells reporters "I'm going clean that up"
Mac needs to go full Costanza...........
