I expected it.

It's not only the fans in the early 30 who are completely oblivious to what ALL other NFL teams encounter on down cycles. It's also that many of the older fans who lived through the pre-Belichick years have been spoiled by Brady and Belichick.

They really don't know what bad coaching is anymore.

We've had lots of people wanting to move on from Brady of 2019, or from McDaniels, and now Belichick.

Well the replacements were Cam Newton, our former DC, and probably a guy like Eric Bienemy.

They don't realize that the drop is huge.
Wouldn't it be the younger fans, the ones who have only known Tom and Bill, that would be the most spoiled? For us older fans Tom and Bill aren't even the top player/coach combination that we've had.

I guess you're right in some way. It was old man Belichick that left us with Cant Newton to replace Brady and Patricia to replace Josh. Maybe we need some young gun to replace Bill. :)

Wow, this poor dude. Doesn't look anything like the happy, smiling KB we know. He's all nervous. Patricia destroying the joy of playing football for this dude. Turned him into a robot.

I can think of three situations where Bill decided to punish a player by sitting him out. If there's more that I missed feel free to add them.
1) Welker for his foot jokes.
2) Butler in the SB.
3) Bourne last week.
The Pats lost all three games and it can be argued that those surprise moves had an impact on the team.
It throws off the gameplan when you practiced with a player all week for him to suddenly not be there. And you're also removing a talented player from your team. I've always hated when belichick did petty weird stuff like this. But it's definitely getting a lot more heat now.

Don't we all understand that blaming this on Patricia is missing the mark?

This is BB's team. He chose Patricia.

Bourne being mad at Patricia--if that's what people are saying--is the same as Bourne questioning Belichick's football strategy.

If rumors are true that Bourne was upset at the direction Patricia is going, then he was questioning Belichick's new strategy.

and we're surprised this went over like a lead balloon with BB?
Patricia wasn’t just disliked in Detroit, he was hated by every player and other coaches on his staff. It was an epic disaster. Players celebrated on Twitter when Patricia got fired

It’s clear Patricia is horrible at connecting with his players

Patricia could take Jamar Chase and turn him into N’Keal Harry.

A horrible NFL coach

Yep, he’s their best receiver imo.

I expect that most people who are suggesting that Belichick could/should be moved on from are doing so because of reasons that aren't about actual coaching.

My reasons are because of his draft weekend grocery-shopping.

Not if Mac can do this out of a shotgun spread formation. Easy peasy.

What a throw... And it had to be a bulls-eye too, because he eye-balled his target the whole time, same as the Pick-6 which lost the game for them... Herbert's so good that he might be developing bad habits...

No?

Yes we do...and I don't mean any of his children either.

Thanks for the reasoned response.

I honestly don't know what happened between Bourne, Agholor and Smith. Was that during the game?
Yes, it was. Bourne whipped around after the fumble and put his hand up. Jonnu went over to talk him down.

The drop from Belichick to young gun will be huge. Enormous.

All I can say is that 20 years is a very long time. I'm a little embarrassed that I can even remember the ins and outs of being a fan of a team coached by Pete Carroll, or Parcells, or heaven forbid **** McPherson. I take this stuff way too seriously.

But it's really hard to come down from 20 years of dominance, and to allow a successful coach like Belichick what all successful coaches should be allowed: time to rebuild the roster.

The talent is not here yet.

Maybe they should sing kumbaya together.

The Patriots defense was #1 in the league under Patricia.

Those players must've hated him. I really don't care though because... they were #1.

That is an inaccurate statement.

Not to mention, how can anyone hate this guy after wearing that t-shirt?
(I clearly suck at posting images, I'm sure you all know the t-shirt I am referring to...Maybe I'll try to figure it out later, when i have an extra hour or two,. LOL)
