He would not be happy! I doubt he would play for the Patriots now. The reason he left is that BB failed miserably to get him some WRs that could get open. The pick of Harry was a lame attempt by BB to address that issue; worst pick in Patriots history because, among other things, the exit of the GOAT
The WRs and TEs were much improved last season and today.

The issues with a NE offense is not because of Henry, Smith, Meyers, Agholor, Parker and Bourne. If youre single covered in the NFL youre open unless you have a Revis covering you. Thats why you double a guy that you want to take out of the game. Ball placement, timing and velocity are the keys to passing.

Spasms are caused by something, they don't just happen.

Back problems aren't exactly known for improving with time.
Actually, just the opposite. Unless it’s something like a slipped disc, back spasms/aches usually heal themselves. It takes time though.

Yes, Yes, thank you.

I’m pretty sure the Patriots aren’t looking to weed out anyone. Pink hats buy pink hats after all.

Let’s see if it’s a trend. The 2021 opener was a 4:25 game while last Sunday was a one o’clock game played on what might have been the last Sunday of summer weather for like 9 months.

First 1:00 start for a Pats-Squealers game in 24 years... I do believe that CBS, at least, has spoken... The NEP as a national phenomenon no longer exists; they're about as relevant now as the Commandos are.

Wonder how many more clever Mac is sick of his offensive line jokes will see before Sunday.

Not as many as we'll see after Sunday if things don't go well for them, again...

TV ratings have nothing to do with former players. Ratings are down across the NFL continuing a trend that started before COVID, the Pats are not alone. Locally the fanbase is notorious for only being interested when the team is challenging for a championship, the Pats have not been an elite team since 2018. Given the current state of affairs, the Celtics will be the most popular team this year.

Getting everyone ready for a Friday:

When the beat writers start tweeting around 12:15, I sure hope that we hear Mac is back at practice and looking back to normal

They have 5 prime time games this year including Thanksgiving.

Public clearly favors the Steelers in betting but the line is still moving the Patriots way. Looks to me like the sharps are leaning heavy toward the Patriots in this one. Could be a good sign.

The line was expected to be at least -3 Steelers without Mac. It's up as high as -2.5 Patriots now that we know Mac is playing.

Not at all surprising. Sharp betters know his value. According to Jay Croucher (head oddsmaker at PointsBet) Mac affects the line more than most QBs.

It's why fans of other teams like @Triumph are jealous and seething about the fact that he fell in our lap without having to trade up for him.

And they're not winning anything this year either.

Welcome back to Loserville USA, everyone.

Just to get a little bit of retrospective views from fans.

When was the last time we had such a negative view of the patriots. I couldn't think of even a single point of time even in Cam's season where every view about the patriots were so negative.

As fans, it's tough to be hopeful if you are a realist. Your heart pines for patriots to win , but mind tells you that we are most probably going to lose.

I know there are outliers to these views, but reading on this forum, the media, tweets and also views of patriots homers like Phil Perry who is more nuanced, and optimistic usually , there just seems no light at the end of tunnel.

Yesterday I was thinking if we might have a chance to draft stroud , thats how low my expectations have tanked . No offense to Mac, he was decent last year , but just seemed unable to lift the team up since last december and this preseason and first game were just affirmations of our worst fears . And talent on other teams is mind boggling . We drafted so poorly that we are overpaying a good chunk of our veterans .

This approach of stacking good mid level talent worked when we had Brady, Gilmore, jc , hightower, Edelman , Gronk, thuney, mason.

Now I don't see any stars . All average talent with very few above average talent .

Looking at chargers yesterday , I felt how bad we have become as a team.

It's just my rant for the day . Will start rooting on Sunday again, but need to let this out and know if there are others who also feel the same way.

I don't know about that... I was pretty negative about the 2020 Patriots they were a wretched football team disguised as a mediocre one. The 49ers game told us everything we needed to know about that team. They weren't good at anything at all. Caught with their pants down after the GOAT left. IMO this team is better than 2020 at almost every position. Just glad we were decent last year and played the GOAT and his team close instead of playing them in 2020. Would have been absolutely destroyed and I don't know how long Kraft would have tolerated what would have been said about BB if that happened.

I want to see more from Mac it's still too soon to judge him or bail on him IMO. Stroud is going top 3 IMO and maybe even 1. If we're really bad enough to be in position to draft Stroud and there are no season killing injuries like Mac getting Bernard Pollarded then that means we are worse than bad teams like the Bears, Jets, Texans and Lions and that would be a total failure at every level of the organization. We should not be a league bottom feeder. If we are then BB will not be here next season and rightfully so.

Unfinished product that is not well coached right now IMO. We had a good draft in 2021, not sure about 2022 but we might need 1 or 2 more good drafts like 2021 and money spent wisely over the next couple of years for our window to open up.

I think the negativity is because of Bill's strange decision to have Patricia/Judge lead the offense and their Year 2 young, talented QB.

It was a very odd decision and it's been questioned by pretty much everyone across the league aside from the forum BB ball washers. It's too early to tell how it all works out. I have my doubts.

I think I feel more negative about this team than the Cam team. The team in 2020 had horrible talent, so I remember them actually outperforming their talent that year. The team this year has much better talent and in game one they underperformed that talent imo (especially on the O-line).

In 2020 I was excited to watch anything due to the COVID outbreak. The Pats could have been even worse than they were in 2020 and I would have been excited to watch them.

For the record, I expect the current team to improve during the season and turn the mood of the fanbase around. For now though, not being able to move the ball all pre-season and in game one is real frustrating.
