We'll know... what, exactly? What changes about what we KNOW happened, based on him getting more playing time in the next game?
We'll know he's out of the doghouse.
We'll know the pressure (prob. internal) on the coaches worked.
We'll know if his perf. warranted the benching.
We'll know if the O is more efficient.

I agree on #1 and #4. We don't even know if there IS pressure internally, nor if that is what caused the change in playing time. And I'm confused on #3... How well prepared, and how bought in he is in week 2, doesn't tell me whether he was prepared and locked in for week 1.

I get it so inquiring minds will finally know.

And you don't think we can second guess a Brass who choose Harry over AJ Brown and others??

big difference between draft decisions and decisions based on what they see day in day out at practice.......comparing apples to watermelons

If I were Kraft, I'd be mad if I'm spending 6.4M on a guy not playing while we scored only 7 points.

I'm trying to figure out how we even know Kraft is asking such questions now.

All I got is Curran trying to stitch together an interview Kraft gave in April (!) suggesting he wants to see more ROI on the free agents he's signed, with the current day situation. Curran now writes:

So, all he's reporting is that Kraft noticed what pretty much any Patriots fan who watched the game noticed, and he's not even reporting that from first hand observations. Then, the rest of it is 100% conjecture! He even says he doesn't know if that observation was acted on! He doesn't know!

This is total ass clownery. He's making sh!t up that he knows will trigger the dolts that take him seriously. He points out Kraft doled out $90M on free agent contracts, without also saying Kraft gets a check for $250M a year from the NFL for TV revenue even before he spends a penny on salaries, makes even more off tickets, parking and merch, and can sell the team for at least $3B any time he wants. It's a total joke that Curran is concerned about for Kraft and his $90M.

Source is below:

i've been saying this for months......curran has become just another mediot chasing $$ via clicks and follows.......his twitter has been downright felger-esque for a long time

But they are also gamers like Bourne and Practice players like Parker and Agholor who look like world beaters in practice who don't translate on gamedays.

Look I'm ok with giving Parker more snaps so he can begin to develop chemistry w/ Mac. Agholor has been & continues to get open. Meyers is good 'ol reliable. But to only have Bourne take 2 snaps is criminal.

How about mixing things up? Throw in some 4 WR sets. Get him 10-25 snaps at least.

sounds like right now he's got to earn them

late for a meeting.....getting bounced from practice.....moping and whining about targets

none of that has EVER flown here under BB......no way in hell i want to start seeing that be acceptable behavior now

it's easy to hold a team to a high standard when they are consistently winning......cutting corners on accountability should not start happening in the midst of a rebuild

bourne ****ed around......bourne got called on it......how he responds is up to him

and when bourne decides to act like a professional, he'll be treated like one

6.4 is peanuts for a wide receiver these days. In fact if you look at where Bourne's contract is relative to the rest of the league, almost all of the WR's in his area are on their rookie deals:

The vaunted veterans that make similar money are Braxton Berrios, Marvin Jones, and Julio Jones on a 1 year prove it deal.

is it possible he's just not one of their top 3 receivers?

sure, he was their "top" receiver last year, but everyone said they needed to upgrade the position

maybe week one he simply played according to what he and others had been showing......

2 snaps, 20 yards per snap... Or 1 target, 40 yards per target...

versus:

57 snaps, Zero point 16 yards per snap... Or 2 targets, 4.5 yards per target...

If they're indeed playing based on what they showed, then is there any doubt whatsoever who should be playing more snaps next week?

Can't have all choir boys we need to win football games.

So now Kendrick Bourne is so good that he should get free reign to do whatever he wants?

I have to reiterate, I LIKE Kendrick Bourne. But the degree to which people are pumping him up now as some game breaker who must be played at all costs is getting a bit ridiculous.

He's also not getting back a good return on the Agholor investment on way more snaps and Bigger cap #.

don't care about choir boys......need athletes that aren't me first and don't erode from within

it's like you haven't watched this team, ever, in 20 years

show up on time....do your job.....don't be a distraction......team first

it isn't hard....

I'm basing it off last year which he had more yards than former First Rounders Parker and Agholor.

That's not the question I'm asking though. I'm asking if he's so much better than those guys that he should play even if he's missing meetings, not producing in practice, and sulking behind the scenes? I don't know for sure what's going on, but neither does anyone in this thread. If he's not bought in to the program, he's not good enough to play over guys that are, frankly, not that much less talented than him. This is not Randy Moss. You live with some of this stuff for a Randy Moss.

Well he caught a 40 yder in his only attempt, so that tells me he was more than ready. Coaches agreed which makes #3 weird af.

Good play. ONE play. I suppose we should extrapolate that out to assume that, if Bourne had played 57 snaps like Parker did, he would have caught 28 balls for 1120 yards, based on that one play. And the coaches agreed? Which is why they still only played him for the 2 snaps? Seems like, right or wrong, they agreed that he wasn't ready to do more. But yes, that was one really good play.

If you are accusing Kendrick Bourne of missing meetings, plural, you're off-base and wrong.

Reports indicate Bourne was slightly late for a preseason meeting against the Panthers. That meaningless preseason game happened on August 19th. Why was he punished nearly a month later for being late to a single preseason meeting? It makes no sense.

It's the old let's send him a MESSAGE at the cost of hurting our own chances to win. How did that work out? Not so well against Miami. Not so well in big games in the past, need we bring up the Malcolm Butler Superbowl benching? Hopefully the Patriots will put such nonsense logic behind them and make winning football games their most important priority again.
