No, he is not.Tavai is the run D starter wether you like it or not. How will other teams exploit that will be part of the early season story.

I can answer that for you very quickly RW.....no he is not!!!!!!!!!!Tavai is in the mix b/c he is very good at ST.
The question is is he better than Wilson, Bentley and McMillian.
Great job here but the athleticism evaporates with the depth at the position.Yeah Scotty, I'm hoping we see more of them and less of Tavai.
because of our depth at safety, I expect us to play less LB's and more safety's at the same time.Great job here but the athleticism evaporates with the depth at the position.
And he won’t be playing ahead of them. He is a special teamer who plays lb at the end of the depth chart. Last year he played 56 snaps, 54 of them in games decided by anywhere from 15 to 40 points. In other words, he is the lb that fits in when the games over.I can answer that for you very quickly RW.....no he is not!!!!!!!!!!

Since most will be back on the practice squad of course you have them practiceSo will they be cut before the 12:30 p.m. practice or after, would be a little cruel to make them practice only to be released shortly after.
There is no practice today per Reiss. So will they be cut before the 12:30 p.m. practice or after, would be a little cruel to make them practice only to be released shortly after.
I think that Bethel is a lock regardless.I think points 1 and 4 are interesting in conjunction with each other. If Mitchell and Wade don't make the cut, I think Bethel is a lock. He's not a guy you want out there a lot, but as emergency CB's you could do worse than him.
tavai is likely one of the 3 Vets that will shuttle on the PS squad for the first few weeks.Agree.
Bentley just signed a new deal. He's not going anywhere
McMillan is good vs the run, knows the system and logged 285 ST snaps in 2020
Wilson is faster, better in coverage and logged 180 ST snaps last year.
I don't hate Tavai but there are better players in front of him.
I would be surprised if this is the case:
They’ve never let go of a 4th round pick in year 1 before. He certainly isn’t ready now, but showed some nice flashes, but was very inconsistent and raw. I think the plan is to keep him for the year and see if he can get acclimated to the NFL this year and be able to replace Hoyer next year. Just my guess though.I don't think Zappe is a lock at all today by any means. Wasn't impressed with the pick nor his preseason. He's also not serious competition for Mac nor a guy I can see stepping in to play if Mac is unavailable. At least Hoyer can do that.
Could be wrong we'll see.
