Patriots Injury News TY Montgomery

I'm confused. Hoyer was healthy when they did it with him.

If Montgomery is out for the season, they can not cut him and there is no incentive for the player to settle. He legitimately gets fully paid because he's out for the season.

I agree if they could do this with Ty, they would consider it.

I don't understand the sequence of what you think could happen.
Health is in the eye of he beholder. Look at GB IR-ing Marty in 2017 and NE signed him.

My point is there are wink-wink deals all the time. Sequencing can be all over the map.

It's all moot anyway as Ty looks like hes ok.

There are wink-wink deals all the time, and I believe you will see them with Cardona, Ferentz and others.

But truly out for the season is a different animal. It is not in the eye of the beholder.

So if TY is not out for the season, yes there may be an injury settlement where he comes back.

They aren't cutting Cardona because they don't have a replacement. No need to assume that risk.

They aren't saving a roster spot for a player if there is 0% chance of them playing in 2022.

After it happened I was holding out hope it was an ankle and not a knee. Once I heard ankle, I felt better.

I think it's likely to be a high ankle sprain, which hurts like absolute hell (apparently ... I cannot speak from experience), but is only a 3-8 week recovery depending on the severity. Hernandez had one of these occur during week 2 of the 2012 season and returned in week 6.
Hernandez liked to smoke dust too, should Ty pick some up to help with his rehab?

d%#*!@t. Looks like Pats gonna have to carry 4 Injured guys to the other side of cut-down and then hope that the guys they let go don't get snagged. (TM, Wilkerson, Thornton, and Cajuste)

Not confident Wilkerson has a spot. What happened to Cajuste? Not ideal.

Players with less than four years of time have to go through waivers if they're cut. Any team can claim them and they have to go, or retire. Veterans don't go through waivers--they become free agents. You can cut a guy like Hoyer so he doesn't count against the 53, and you can retain someone like Montgomery on the 53, then put him on in-season IR. Hoyer then re-signs with the team. Happens all the time, as long as the veteran is willing to play along.

A shot and tape Montgomery up up real good I don't like our other pass catching RB's they are all Meh!

He earned his spot. Unlike Tavai.

What??????????

Our Offense don't need this at the moment really bad Patriot news.

What an odd few weeks for Montgomery. We went from thinking he would miss a good part of the year to him playing in week 1 and now IR. I would guess Rhamondre gets more action in the passing game since JJ has seemingly been here for 10 years but never gets to see the field.
