Seems like an opportunity for much discussion. Hopefully focused on the topic more than BB bashing.

Q: We saw both Matt Patricia and Joe Judge taking turns on play call duty tonight on the offense. Is that the plan moving forward, having them switch back and forth, and do you plan on naming a single guy or going with both?

BB: Yeah, well, we did this game. We did a lot of things in this game that are going to be beneficial in the long run, whether it was on the coaching staff, playing time, players that played and so forth. That’s all part of the process.

Q: Bill, what were some of the benefits of having Joe and Matt call plays tonight?

BB: I thought it would be a good opportunity for us to do that.

Q: Do you know if one will call plays when the regular season arrives?

BB: Yeah, don’t worry about that. We’ll work it out.

Q: Have you decided?

BB: We’re going through a process. Just like everything else on this team. . . .

Q: You mentioned earlier with the offensive play caller you’re going through a process. What do you need to see —

BB: I don’t need to see anything, just we’re going through a process. Simple as that.

Q: It’s just a little bit of an unusual situation for us that have watched you guys before —

BB: What do you want me to do?

Q: I guess we’re just looking for a little clarity as to why we’re seeing what we’re seeing.

BB: Great. Yeah. Going through a process.

I think we learned that it shouldn't be Judge.

It's their job.

BB is also within his right to answer how he pleases
I think BB absolutely loves confounding them by playing cat and mouse with them.

He’s not going to show his work, you can see the results of his decision making but not how he decided. That’s his value above replacement.

I don't think he is playing cat and mouse. He is still trying to figure out who it will be. Neither one of them has experience as an OC although I believe Judge did call plays for the Giants last year.

Too early to tell. Judge was working with Zappe. His calls might have been to see how Zappe would handle some particular details.

Poor reporters had nothing to report there: BB doesn't make their jobs easy at all. The best part of the BB post game interviews is the end. :)

I think they each have their own role to play. Judge is QB coach. Zappe is his project. Makes sense for him to be the play caller there. Might be they alternate during the season, might be one gets to be primary but this way they’re crosstrained to have depth. Also a good way to both train and evaluate them both for future years.

No, the best part is watching him frustrate reporters who ask dumb questions and then don’t give up.
n6249c: maybe the reporter have to feed his family the Boss said he needs something throw him a bone.

Love the BB pressers, just can't miss..especially if he's in a cranky/cantankerous mood. The master of the monotone/ one word response.

On the other side, it's amazing to see the teacher in him come out when he gets an insightful question. Unfortunately, we don't get to see it too often since most reporters are looking for the hot take / sound bite.

But, the Cranky Bill responses are gold.

It's their job to try, it's not their job to get indignant when the team doesn't want to share strategy info with the public.
Oh yes I agree with you there. Don't take anything personal

I do love it when he gets insightful. I wish the reporters would ask more questions to get him to open up and teach all of us.

Patricia is the playcaller when the season starts......with some of the struggles the OL has had so far in camp with in-line calls, etc after the 1st few series, it was more important for Patricia to work exclusively with the OL, more than likely on said calls, etc, so Judge called plays for the guys they need a look at, while Patricia worked on priority need......
