Joejuan gonna get cut in next 3 weeks .. what a class 2019 has been.. only Harris, Bailey and Meyers ...

I’ve never, ever heard any posters b*itch about the 2019 draft before. Thanks for bringing this topic to our attention.

Also:
1. Cajuste (assuming that his injury tonight wasn’t serious) could play an important role this year as a potential swing tackle
2. You’re not allowed to conveniently forget to mention that they received a good player for Winovich via trade this offseason.

me when i hear bb picked strange in the first rnd after trading a pro bowl guard for a bag of balls and some gator aid.

Despite the game being devoid of starters, left guard Cole Strange saw some action on the offensive line and made the most of his time on the field. The Chattanooga product showcased his size and speed early, contributing a pair of strong pushes against New York’s defensive linemen. Strange’s turn of Giants’ defensive end Jalyn Holmes helped to spring a 5-yard run by running back J.J. Taylor on the Patriots' first scoring drive.

Depending on Henry Anderson's performance, there might be room for Roberts and Ray.

I see Roberts as more of an interior disruptor with the ability to move around a bit, and with some time, could turn into a 3-down player who can defend the run and rush the passer (think Seymour). I see Roberts leaning towards more of an IDL role.

I see Ray as a guy who leans towards EDGE. If he bulks up, maybe he could contribute inside, but to my eye he look like a long, athletic, bigger-than-average EDGE who could kick inside in pure pass rush situations.

I think Roberts/Ray could have two distinct spots on the roster (despite their similarities) because I think they have somewhat divergent skill-sets/builds.

If we only keep one, though, I agree that Roberts showed more than Ray against NYG.

To me Roberts looked a lot stouter than Ray. Ray looked more disruptive, but got pushed back too many times for my liking. I prefer steady and strong to flashy but vulnerable.

Roberts needs some more technique as he was sandwiched on his penalty when he let the OL man get into his chest, but he held up well a few times with pure power. Assuming the kid can learn the hand fighting, I prefer Roberts after that game.
Why not both?

We'll see, both seem like what we need, long way to go.

I seem to remember reading a few articles that Herron has always played better at LT so why keep playing him at RT ?.....is this because being a swing tackle he has to play both sides well ??

I have only had a chance to look at the highlights , but from those and the comments in the GDT...some of the rookies/and younger players made some good plays. I like the effort from Ray/Roberts and the Nixon/Wilkerson impact at WR. The joint practices with the Panthers will tell us more hopefully.

One thing I was not clear on , how was the Pats run defence holding up ???

This game was a must win for Daboll.

1 Last years NYG record 4 - 13
2 First time NFL HC
3 The former employee beating the old boss.
4 Near bottom ranked 2021 offense at 31st.

For your sake, I hope that you are joking.

If he was good why did the Browns pull off a rare one-for-one trade for Wino?

Nope

Daboll was hired to fix Daniel Jones and Daboll has to come out winning and prove that the Giants are on the way back. The less ammo the NYC sports media has to use the better.

Seen enough, Tyquan sits out the rest of the preseason games, starts week 1 against the Dolphins. Prediction, scores 2 td's in a win.

Nice block, inside, first series. Pushed his man 5 yards downfield. That gets playing time in NE.

The Browns personnel decisions are more analytics-driven than the Pats are and their analytics guys loved Winovich. It seems highly probable that the Pats liked Wilson coming out of Alabama but missed out on him in the draft and were happy to swap him for a more one-dimensional player in Wino.

Wilson played a lot of snaps as a rookie and played well but after Owusu-Koramoah unexpectedly fell to the Browns in the second round he became expendable. He played relatively limited snaps last year but when he did play he was effective, according to the reports that I have read. Overall, the Browns beat reporters and also the fans had positive things to say about Wilson’s play.

It was clear last night that he brings an element of speed at linebacker that the patriots have liked for years.

Mt favorite part of the game was SlowJuan being taken out for a bad play when the bottom of the roster scrubs were playing.
