Well I got my first Pats bet down for the year: over 43.5 in the Miami game. Our offense is underrated, our defense is going to struggle and Tua will still give us a couple of picks.

Now that training camp season is here, it is time to begin a new season of betting. This thread will be used as a thread to sign up to play. Unlike last year, there will be no new players allowed once betting begins. And this year, betting will begin during the preseason! No, we will not be betting on preseason games. Only @BaconGrundleCandy is that much of a degenerate gambler. We will, however, be making our 2022 player/team prop bets toward the end of the preseason.

If you want to play this season, all I will need is a simple message posted by you in THIS thread. A simple "I'm in" or "I'll give you a reach-around for extra betting money" will do. Every person who signs up in this thread will be tagged in the betting threads. You must sign up by the end of the day August 26th--the day of our final preseason game. The prop bets will be begin just before that day only for those who have signed up.

Why am I being so anal about this? Last year proved to be quite the task of managing all the numbers week to week. For my own sanity, I will want all the names entered into the database ahead of time with no changes needed going forward. Just numbers. And really, if you can't post a message on this thread over the next 30 days, tough titty said the kitty. And if you are not on patsfans at all during training camp and preseason? Shame on you!

I will tag everyone who played last season. Hope to see all of you back for more fun. That means you, @venecol. I need you. There are a couple more additions to this year's betting that will make this season even better. Who will knock off our esteemed champion, @Pat the Pats Fan ????

The first betting threads will have very thorough directions about betting. Do not be afraid to join if you are not familiar with betting. We will walk you through it at the beginning. Ahem, @Ian

In case you want to look ahead, I will post the current Week 1 lines below. They will change, I am sure. I will also post some of the many prop bets from which you will get to choose. It is a large menu. Choose wisely!

I used to be a dirty rotton grundle back in the day. High school and college wrestling, cricket, WNBA (which might be the worst option listed) No more. Football & Basketball. Don't have the time and don't want to be the assholle who literally loses his farm.

Well, after watching the offense for the last few days, I bailed out of that bet. I was fortunate to find an o/u 44.5, so I took the under of that. Technically I can hit the middle if by some miracle the score lands right on 44, but I'm happy to lose the vig and live to fight another day.
