C'mon man,more than speculation. Reiss said he looked totally pisssed.and he was standing close to him. Reiss doesn't deal in baseless speculation like most of the other Boston media clowns. If he says he was pisssed,he was pisssed. The specuation is really you my man-speculating about a nonexistent injury.
Look it's a good thing he's pisssed. He's showing some of that competitive fire Brady had. The defense beat the offense today. He's mostly pisssed at himself. Watch him come out and shine on Monday

Look, I don't want to be backed into a corner defending my speculation, but Reiss wasn't "standing close to him" -- he was in the media tent --and didn't say he was "pissed" -- he said he looked unhappy. He then speculated it was because of the bad int he threw to end a bad day (3/11 on downfield throws).

I of course hope Mac is uninjured, but I'm disappointed that he had a bad practice and not happy if he stormed off the field because of that.

I mean I enjoy reading about all the highs and lows that are being reported with all the gravity of a playoff game ike it was the middle of the season but C'MON. All of a sudden the offense sucks (obviously because of the incompetent coaching . OR....maybe the the secondary is going to be better than predicted....... OR... just maybe it's just the 4th practice in shorts and T-shirts and it doesn't mean sh!t in the long run

The defense is ALWAYS going to be ahead early in camp, but that won't stop the mediots from putting forth the narrative that the offense sucks and the Pats are screwing up Mac Jones, who, btw, isn't that good to begin with.

There. You happy yet. So much drama and it is STILL July.

Right now, I feel like Montgomery offers more to the team as a depth WR/RB/KR than any TE besides Henry/Smith. It might make sense to keep just 2 TE on the roster until someone better becomes available after cuts.

They wouldn’t intentionally carry two TE’s, or haven’t for as long as I can remember.

Monty might take that 3rd down HB role if Strong can’t get off the injury list and they need Rhamondre to carry some of the rushing load. But he is a versatile piece who can play RB, WR and make tackles in kick coverage teams.

CB Malcolm Butler
Like Mitchell, Butler entered camp with a wide range of potential outcomes. He could earn a starting spot, stick around as a depth player or, with little guaranteed money in his contract, be cut before the season. It’s way too early to draw any roster conclusions, but the Super Bowl XLIX hero looks closer to Option 3 than Option 1 at the moment. He’s mostly run with the second unit opposite rookie Jack Jones and has had a tough time keeping up with Nelson Agholor, who’s beaten him on a handful of occasions. On Saturday, Butler had an aggressive pass breakup against Parker but also surrendered a long touchdown to Josh Hammond, a newly signed wideout with zero career NFL receptions. Butler returning to Foxboro and making an impact five years after his infamous Super Bowl benching — and one year after announcing his retirement — would be a fantastic story. But his performance thus far has not measured up.

I don’t think Nixon is down…but he’s not up either. In-between.

WR Tre Nixon
The breakout star of minicamp, Nixon’s bid for a surprise roster spot has lost steam this summer. The shifty slot receiver has mostly run with the offensive reserves, seeing just two total targets from Mac Jones in team drills. One of those did result in a nice contested touchdown catch during Friday’s practice, but Jones seemed to indicate it likely would have been broken up had cornerback Shaun Wade not been wearing pads on his hands

He shouldn’t be here either. He’s basically a rook. Give him a couple more weeks.

LB Cameron McGrone
McGrone’s offseason hype train was well-fueled and fast-moving, but the 2021 fifth-rounder hasn’t seen much work with the defensive regulars in spring practice or the first four days of camp. There’s plenty of time left for him to climb the inside linebacker depth chart — and he did get a few more looks on Friday and Saturday — but he seems to be clearly behind Ja’Whaun Bentley, Raekwon McMillan and Mack Wilson at this stage.

Strong has a Montgomery issue…he’s kicking butt.

RB Pierre Strong
Strong should be capitalizing on White’s PUP stint and logging valuable reps as a pass-catching back. But he’s been injured, as well, with an undisclosed ailment keeping him out of all team drills. Strong has dressed for each practice, suggesting his injury is not serious, but he’s in danger of falling behind in this hotly contested roster battle.

Why focus on the downs and ignore the ups?

that said, Butler is trying to play himself Back into football shape after an extended layoff. He knows how to play, question is whether his body can cash the checks his mind writes. It’ll take time for it to come back, let’s wait and see. He’s certainly still a competitor.

Seems like Strong may be coming down with a case of Foxboro Flu. He‘s in no danger of being cut. The coaching staff all know that, so they’re taking a look at all the other RBs before they worry about him. If they’re good enough Strong’s ailment will go from nagging injury to a redshirt IR season. NBD.

for the UP side, I liked this one. Getting him the ball in space will create lots of exciting possibilities.

RB Rhamondre Stevenson
Stevenson came into camp in much better shape this year — he dropped seven pounds from his rookie weight and now checks in at 225 — and has looked smooth as a pass-catcher. With James White yet to fully recover from the hip injury that ended his 2021 season, Stevenson looks like a strong candidate to take on more pass-game responsibilities after working to improve in that area this offseason. He’ll also challenge Damien Harris for early-down opportunities.
