NFL Free Agency 2022 edition

We traded one 2023 3rd round pick for Parker.

I forgot that, but the Pats did pick up a third. And will get a third next year. They still have draft capital. And the Panthers' third will be more attractive in a trade than the Pats' third.

Consistent isn't the right word. He's always been a consistent performer. He's just the definition of "injury prone" and has a rep or its understood you have to really take care of him during the week. Days off, lots of self-care to get himself right. Which really isn't a big deal. Every team has a few of those guys. If he plays he's producing. It's just getting him on the field and making sure he's healthy that's the big part.

100 + sacks, 107 TFL and 173 QB hits in 11 years though, he's pretty consistent.

He has had up and down years even in years he played 14-16 games. He has had a lot of All Pro and Pro Bowl years, but years of under performing too. He under performed two years ago and played 15 games. His last year with the Rams and his journeyman phase where he bounced around from the Rams to the Dolphins to the Cowboys to the Bears in four years was very much a mixed bag.

I fear you might be box score scouting here and putting too much on sacks even though they're important.

Look at 2020 for example. He had 2 sacks but was still very disruptive forcing pressure at a top ten rate. Kind of what we saw from Barmore this year. It happens.

Some years you're just not going to get those sacks. Some of it is luck, who you're facing / what they're trying to accomplish that game etc Some of it is injuries. Not as dominant but I look at Quinn & Watt similarly bc they've dealt with so many injuries.

Isn’t he like 6’6”? Harry’s departure as end of the roster wr must be imminent.
6‘4“ and 210 pounds of the combine. Most notably he is FAST.

Jk, he is slow AF. Ran a 4.75. That had to be the reason he went undrafted because he had a good Junior season at Texas…86 receptions for 1,176 yards and nine touchdowns.

Are you sure you are talking about Fas'Jordan?

Well he's not that, though he does have a nice yards per catch average in a very, Very limited sample size:

More likely than not he's just Parker's stunt double during TC, to run a few of his routes when the real one needs a breather etc...

Wonder if the Pat will look at this guy. Could be a low risk signing...Just don't know how good he is setting the edge..

I haven't been watching the USFL, but based on the quality of play of past alternative football leagues and the success rate of players from those leagues making it in the NFL when given a chance, I tend to think that even the most elite players in the USFL have little or no shot at making it in the NFL.

Odom has played in the NFL Previously. He was on Washington.

I mentioned him because he has the size (6'4-262) that Pats look for in their Edge guys. He may or may not have improved from his time in Washington. But as a flyer when the Pats have room on their 90 man roster, why not?

I hope it’s DT, DT and DE instead. Flowers should be one and DT’s will probably be when teams start making cuts…or a trade.
Wouldn't mind a veteran LB a/o CB. The offense is fine.

For the same general reason that most of these reaches occur: Bill's attempt to show the league that he's the smartest guy in the (draft) room, when in fact he's one of the least-informed.
2021 NFL Executive of the Year.

A 0/1-Tech DT > Carl's Junior Davis (shouldn't be that hard, I mean c'mon man);

A DE with past pass-rushing production (a healthy Tre Flowers will do just fine thank you);

And another CB because Mills & Mitchell should never, EVER be considered starters on ANY team that fancies itself a contender, even for just a Wild Card... Dam but Bill has really ****ed up this position...
