Any thoughts on the tuck rule admission?

Without the tuck rule, do the Patriots even play the Raiders? Let's say they finish the season 13-3? I wonder what the seeding would be. Chances are they don't even play the Raiders in that game.

That being said, the biggest cheat of all is what the NFL did the Patriots against the Eagles in 2017. I'll never ever understand that or have it explained to me properly. I've asked. No one knows. Even Cris Collinsworth was incredulous. He was like, how does the NFL change a rule in the middle of a game, or for only one game? Bizarre.

One of the clearest cut examples of the NFL putting its thumb on the scales against the Patriots.

as though we needed that at ll after the farce that was deflategate.

Another aspect of that game that seemingly only Patriots fans are aware of was that Troy Vincent sat in the replay booth with Alberto Riveron. Can you imagine the outcry if the replay booth ruled that an iffy TD reception (a catch that had been incomplete all season) by James White was complete, the Patriots went on to win the SB, and then it came out that Tedy Bruschi was in the replay booth for that game? Even if was normal to have Vincent sit with replay official, you'd think he would recuse himself for a game involving the Eagles since he's in that franchise's hall of fame.

Brady never admitted it was actually a fumble, but that he never intended to throw the ball. He never said that the rule was called wrong. It was the correct call of a bad rule.

There are bad rules in the NFL. People need to get over it. I still think it is stupid that you can march 99 yards down the field and on a first and inches your RB fumbles the ball and because it goes out of bounds one inch inside the end zone, it is a turnover and a touchback for the other team but if it went out of bounds one inch before the end zone it you keep the ball and it would be second and goal. That is an awful rule, but that is the facts of life in football. BTW, the Pats were victim of this rule in a playoff game in Denver about a half decade later which played a big role in them losing the game.

And unfortunately for the Raiders in January of 2022, the rule was that if a QB arm is coming forward even if he clearly has no intention to throw the ball is still considered an attempt of a forward pass until he tucked it back into his body.

The rule was called correctly. It was a bad rule and it has been since removed from the rule books because it was a bad rule.

IIn the end I have to admit that I enjoy all of the crying by Raiduh fans on a call that was perfectly legit. The fact that it came 25 years after the Pats were legitimately screwed by a bad call against them at Oakland, makes this one even sweeter.
Exactly!!! The Raiders got away with two of the worst calls in NFL playoff history so they'll get no sympathy from me.

What did they call that other one? The Holy Roller?

maybe...but beer cans and bottles come with free cans of Febreze to cover the ensuing fog of flatulence blowing over Lake Erie
From all the Buffalo wings.

I think Tom was just trolling.
He is taking shots at BB and the Pats. Its what he does to those who doubt him. BB did not want Brady back.

Im waiting for his buddy Gronks commentary.

I don't care. Even if I give the Raiders a break, it's at worst karma for a time they won a championship in a playoff they screwed us on a call. Really the rule was dumb and we benefitted. We went to 9 Super Bowls after that game. That one call wasn't stopping the train. Also the Raiders could have won that game.
"a call"? That is understating the work of Dreith and his crew. This story sums it up nicely: Why Do Raiders Fans Complain about the "Tuck Rule" Game but Forget 1976...? - The Grueling Truth

The tuck rule game can never undo what happened in that 1976 playoff game but I tell you this, if karma is really a thing, this is the best example of it at work.

The refs missed the obvious holding call on the Raiders’ Phil Villapiano. Villapiano tackled Russ Francis while the ball was in the air. Never mind holding, i thought it was pass interference. But either call would have given them a needed first down.

Clever way to bring Brady to the mains.

Not to worry....in 40 days Brady will retract his statement.
He loves the attention and this has the potential for another Brady series.

Tom vs the Tuck Rule.

Bizarre. Unbelievable.

And yet they waived off a Patriot TD using the same rule they used during the year.

These calls were reminiscent of the 2006 AFCCG except at the time, we blamed it on the refs.

This was the NFL openly putting their hands on the scale. And to top it off, the announcers were like, WTH, can't believe this is happening, but I guess I have to just laugh and make fun of the fact it's happening, and no one else cared.

LOL, I found a picture of TB12 preparing for the role.

As much as you want it to be true, that's not what he said. He didn't say it WAS a fumble, he said it MAY HAVE BEEN a fumble. Just a silly off-the-cuff answer to a silly question. Many times previously he said it wasn't a fumble.
I was scrolling through the thread looking to see if anyone else had actually read what Brady said. It took quite awhile to get what he said. As you posted ..it might have been a fumble

Charles Woodson also hit Brady in the head on the play...should have nullified the fumble in any event
