DRAFT Cole Strange-Welcome to the Pats

Lets not go that far.

If we draft an actual AJ Brown instead of Harry. Good chance Pats win the SB, and Brady is still here.

Harry is possibly the worst pick in NFL history.
Jordan Richards

Seems like we are hell bent on having middling talent and avoiding blue chip talent by all means possible.

Idk anymore. What sucks is we’re stuck. Bill has immunity. He’ll be here another 5 years.

I hated this pick but Kiper did have him going in the 50s.
Strange was probably the top OG left on the patriot board. As for the fiction of BPA, that is indeed a fiction.

Bill wanted a starting OG. Bill got a starting OG. Maybe he would have been there at 54, maybe not.

Bill has gone on the record as being someone who really likes to listen to other players and coaches because they all have different angles.

Walsh said this was crucial to a good organization - one that encourages input on every level.

So it seems to me, the one place Bill can't get a ****ing grip on this, is with the draft. I have a hard time believing this was a group consensus.

I could be wrong but whatever.

If I want to be positive, protecting Mac is huge. It would help develop his ability to go through a progression, which means players like Agholor could get on the stat sheet more.

That's all the positivity I got. Who wants to **** on it by telling me how many better guards there were to take?
I mean offensively I can be optimistic. We have a lot of talent there. But they aren’t even trying with this defense. He wants us to suffer against Josh Allen.

this is too much like the Richard Jefferson pick............."WHO???".
When they drafted George Jefferson, I nearly had a heart attack, my lungs were Weezy, I was practically lyin' el floor, and then I thought of Harry, and Bentley, and man I didn't have the Will is to live anymore.

After tonight's draft I feel absolutely depressed. We needed a corner…we let our number one corners go back to back years and now we don’t got much back there. We got humiliated in the playoffs against the bills and I feel like we will see the same this upcoming season. The team truly needs a real GM. We could have picked this guy mid to late 2nd round. We have too many holes now and not enough high picks to fix our problems.

Someone help me make sense of what happened tonight.

Soooo...how are they going to stop teams?

LOL. So why aren't all y'all sitting in the draft room then? Who's been the most productive team of the last 20 years? Can that really be done with endless crappy selections? I have heard this lament SOOOOOOOOO many times. Kyle Duggar! WTF! NOT EVEN DIVISION 1!

Last time we drafted a guard in the first round he played with us for a decade and made the Pro Bowl. I recall similar outrage at that time too. Boo hoo.

I noted that Zion Johnson and Treylon Burks were picked directly in front of us, so... Maybe we were just beaten to the punch.

Clearly, Belichick did not think much of Lloyd, Dean, Elam, Johnson and Wyatt.

Looking at all 5 of these guys, none of the fit the Patriots mold except for Johnson.

We used a 1st rounder on a guy we could've gotten in the 3rd round....

I don’t love the pick. Feels like bad value. That being said most evaluators had him as the third best guard. Maybe 4th. The problem is that they all had a big drop off at the position after the top two guys.

Eh.

Maybe Belichick is more confident than us with Jones coming back, in regards to the secondary.

I can't speak to any other position on the defense.

Fortifying a strong line helps Mac develop.

That's all I got. But I guess just remember that we have a great game planning coach and hopefully we eat crow on this pick.

I don’t mind the pick. Just the “when” bothers me. Still plenty of draft left but just wow, I don’t need a contrarian quoting me, but this draft was looking great with the trade. Picked up needed extra picks and then I’m looking at the board with 5 picks to go and thinking to myself this is working out perfectly. They can’t all be picked by other teams and then this happened. Anyway, what’s done is done. Hope DR Strange shoves all our comments up our negatives arses and becomes a probowler.

This is a disgrace...and people wonder why the Pats couldn't get free agents to sign here this offseason. Bills methods are outdated and other AFC teams continue to improve while the Pats draft 6 year seniors who will be 24 years old at the start of the season......NO EXCUSES.....nobody wants to hear "he'll be a good player watch". Elite talent on the board and he takes a guy who could be had later in the draft.....this is too much like the Richard Jefferson pick............."WHO???".
Damn at least get his name right. He's probably the nice lad giving you coffee at the Dunkin' drive through. It's Jordan Richards, not Jefferson.

I suspect that there was some issue with Johnson.
