If Player X is Available, I Wouldn't Trade Down

I will "ignore" you. I suggest you do the same for me.
why?

It is very interesting to discuss possible options in the draft and what posters thinj will happen

I really want a receiver, but Davis is an absolute beast, and I would support moving up for him.

If a good front 7 player (preferably DE/NT), you take him.

And this is how I predict the board goes.

Who is on your list of players so valuable that you wouldn't trade down in the first?

I'm going to presume these players are gone (these 11 plus CAR's QB)
EDGE Hutchinson
EDGE Walker
EDGE Tribideau
EDGE Johnson
OT Neal
OT Ekwanu
OT Cross
S Hamilton
CB Gardner
CB Stingley
WR Wilson
===========================
SO TWELVE ARE GONE, AND WHO WOULD WE PICK IF THERE AT 21?
Eight will be drafted before we pick. Do you have more than 8 must haves? Who are they, in any case.

DL Davis
ILB Lloyd
EDGE Karlaftas
CB Booth
CB Mcduffie
CB Elam
OT Penning
OG Johnson
C Linderbaum (some say the best center in a decade)
WR Williams
WR London
WR Olave
=====================
After these players, I don't think that the rest of the first is much better than the mid-second. So, some want to move down and up and have two in the top 50. Obviously, there are players on Belichick's board that warrant a 1st round grade, and a pick at 21. The open question is whether any will be there. I personally don't think that so many will be there that he can trade down and get two that he considered top studs.

I have Davis snd London gone before they pick. Given that list I would take Jameson Williams, Devonte Wyatt, and Devin Lloyd.. I would also give serious thought to Daxton Hill , who they could pair with Duggar’s to give their secondary a great pairing in the middle. Hill is also fast enough and athletic enough to cover WR’s.

Jordan Davis is probably the only guy (who can reasonably be there at 21) where I wouldn't even take any phone calls for a trade.

I like what Devin Lloyd can bring to the new-style D that's emerging, and like a lot of the other guys BCG pointed me to...but Davis, then Travis Jones, then, from what I can see, no one, fill a big (pun intended) missing piece.

If Davis is still on the board at 21, run, don't jog up to the podium and turn in the pick!!

He is bigger, stronger, and faster than Donald.

You understand that Davis’s range is basically the “a” gap and he gives you nothing as a pass rusher.

Williams
Ramainn, Penning
Davis
Lloyd

A ready to start LT makes the most sense. If it upgrades Wynn and swings him to guard it patches up two roles with 1 pick. Also considering Wynn Is in the last year if his deal it is a true possibility. You can make a case for Linderbaum as well because Andrews is also in his last year. Although he may be easier to resign.

Honestly though, I’m a huge fan of both Williams and Davis. However there is some prettty good backup plans to both players.

Yup, we should pay $10M for a player who has almost no experience at LG. IF we could draft a starting rookie LT at 21 (not likely), then We should trade Wynn for whatever we can get a sign a starting LG later in the draft or in free agency. We are very likely to be able to find a better OG than Wynn in the 2nd, 3rd ior 4th, or even in free agency for the $10M we would save from trading Wynn.

TO BE CLEAR
I am 100% fine with drafting a LT in the first if we think that he is a better starter in his rookie year than Wynn is now. My suspicion is that even this player that you think is a starter is indeed available, he might be drafted and spend a year as a swing OT, with Wynn still starting at LT.

ONE BOTTOM LINE
If Wynn isn't starting at LG, he isn't worth $10M as a starting LG. He may or may not be worth $10M as a backup OT. More likely, it is better to trade him for a 6th and use the money for someone else, IF HE ISN'T STARTING AT LT.

He projects out as a 3 tech which is a pretty rare find. He was a little underused at Georgia so there are questions about his pass rush ability although his combine numbers suggest he may be good at it but who knows. The whole thought of him just swallowing up double teams speaks volumes of the cause and effect it brings to other players like Barmore etc.

With three (at least) sub-245 linebackers, that's what I'm very okay with.

Why would I ignore you? That makes no sense. I don't even ignore the most annoying troll on the forum. Carry on.

Honestly the worse thing about this entire board is the back and forth bickering that a select few seem to highjack almost every thread with, daily. I just don’t understand coming on to a sports page and constantly arguing with each other about anything other then sports. Especially about board rules and how this page should be run. I feel like I’m in a HOA meeting with a bunch of Karen’s complaining about how another Karen parks her car on the street at night. Keep that crap to yourselves or take it to a private message and bash each other all you want.

Wynn at his best is worth 10 million. That ranks 18th in LT salaries. We just haven’t seen that consistently. He is too athletic to be beat on the outside as often as he does. Not sure what the issue is.

A couple of times it looked like Wynn got beat wide, a pulling IOL simply didn’t get there fast enough.

His range is more than fine. It's plus actually for his size but no he's never going to be a consistent pass rush threat.

Thanks. It seems as though many here don’t have a concept of the crap that other teams have to throw out there at left tackle from week to week. He likely will be never be an elite guy but at his best Wynn is a good to very good LT. I’m hoping that we see that version of him this year on a more regular basis.
