BB usually throws at least one curveball in the draft. This year I think it will be Sam Houston's CB, Zyon McCollum. McCollum has the speed and size (and three-cone time) to be a high pick, at least for the Patriots. McCollum's highlights reel is dodgy but I like what I saw; he can run with anyone, is fiesty, and has excellent hands.

I like McCollum.

I wouldn't be surprised if we drafted Matt Araiza. Jake Bailey had a horrible year, and is in a contract year (I think) and Araiza is left footed and that left foot is an absolute cannon

He had nagging injuries IIRC, and Achord didn't help either.

I predict he will take a player at 21 that is not universally regarded as a first rounder. My early prediction is Chenal LB from Wisconsin.

On second thought, Zyon McCollum has been "discovered", alas. I really, really like this guy, but remember there is a wicked shortage of quality CBs so I suspect he will be gone early, probably before 21. If he and Jameson Williams are on the board at 21, yikes; what do you do? I think I would go with McCollum...

There is no chance Zyon McCollum is going that early. I'd be surprised, nay astonished, if he goes before the 3rd round.

Ya, OK,so maybe he is not first round material, but I'll betcha a nickle that he is gone by the time the Patriots pick in round two, ha. CBs are always undervalued in draft guides; I am only judging him on what I saw on highlight reels and his Combine numbers; they guy can really play. This draft is going to be a LOT of fun to watch.

OK , here is a shocking pick that is right up BB's alley:

Linebacker Diego ***ot from Navy (this site stars out his name but it is spelled: F-a-g-ot; it is pronounced as "Fay-go")

From the Sports Hub:
He can cover the full length of the field at 6-foot-2, 237 pounds and could also contribute on special teams. He was a team captain at Navy, a first-team all-conference linebacker in 2021, and named MVP of the Shrine Bowl last month.

And besides, with a name like that, he must have gotten into a lots of fights so you know he is tough. Look at guys like Claire Chennault or Marion Robert Morrison (John Wayne).

Yeah, I saw him a few times this year. Two things stood out to me, other than his name; he looked super athletic, like the best athlete on the field, and he was a very inconsistent tackler. A lot of arm tackling and jersey grabbing instead of wrapping up.

Definitely would kick the tires as an UDFA

whichever OG we draft first

The jets take cb Gardner at 4 and stingley falls to us at 21.

If I was picking at 4, I would tale Sauce Gardner for sure. I hope that the Jets are not that smart.

Stingley at 21? That would indeed be a shock, a good shock. Quality CBs are super hard to find so I don't see how Stingley lasts past 12-15. We can only hope.

Center Tyler Linderbaum @21.

First round pick will be Dayton Hill.

Depending on who’s on the board thats one of the safest picks in the draft as well as the best value. With Andrews set to be a free agent again next season it wouldn’t be shocking at all.

Definitely safe.
Availability is questionable, may be taken earlier.
Position isn't even spoken of and wouldn't be a popular pick.

Pats use their 2nd round pick on Cam Jurgens
