Now that is funny.

Pats "We'll offer 3 years $15M".
Player: "No, I have a better offer on the table".
Pats "Now the offer is 3 years $13M".
Player: "I don't negotiate contracts very often, but I'm pretty sure that's not how it works."
Unless you're >34 yo and have nowhere else to go, the days of hometown discounts are OVER.

Yea, sorry not to be thrilled about a team that's in desperate need of young talent signing two 36 yo + 34 yo players past their primes. Those guys aren't going to improve the team from what we had last season. Isn't that the goal?
Losing him sure wouldn’t have helped. As has been talked about, he would’ve cost them team whether he stayed or went either way. He was still one of the most well rounded FS’s in the league last year. Would I love a Marcus Williams or someone like that? Sure, but at the amount those guys are gonna cost? No way, not with how many other holes in the secondary the team has to fill. He’s a bridge FS at this point and doesn’t leave the team with a glaring need going into the draft. As far as Slater goes, why not bring him back? He’s a special teamer. Why would anyone **** on that signing? C’mon now.

No worries, I have a feeling it takes a lot to make you happy though, especially with the Pats.

Wouldve like karras back , but maybe not at 6m per. We’ll see what the plan is for lg/rt. I think onwenu could fill either one while the other now needs addressed

If you saw how Williams played last year, you wouldn't want him. He's horrible.

Edit: My mistake, I'm mixing him up with someone else.

the news could be true but I don’t think @RapShmeat is a real account

For those who are keeping score. I am the first person to be conned by a bogus Twitter account during the legal tapering period.

Confirmed, it isn't Rappaport's account.

Wondering if they have other plates spinning and could have afforded to give Karras more last week but then later had to lower the offer due to year 1 costs and being tight right now.
Nah easier to just assume BB is being a cheapskate then perform a minimal level of critical thinking.

And it's Jeff Howe so meh...

Ugh, and then I followed you like a rat to the piper. We all need to get back into offseason shape here!

We all fell for it lol I barely noticed it

I missed it too in your post, it happens!

Yeah, I could never see the Pats paying that much money for him. Not a surprise. Unfortunately it means we’ll likely have the same receiving crew as last year, maybe minus Harry.
$15.8M apy is too much for a true WR#1? Man, we're going nowhere this season if that's the case.

Yeah, too rich for the Pats blood. I wish him luck going from a bad situation in Chicago to a worse one in Detroit. I guess he'll just have to cry himself to sleep each night on a pile of money, surrounded by several beautiful ladies.
Give it up for the Agent he's set for life last Huge Contract.

Part of improving the team for next year involves retaining existing talent.

Saw him in a few of his games and didn’t remember him looking horrible. Admittedly I’m taking most of what I know from his stats. Last year he allowed less than 50% completions, and 3 TD’s. That seems pretty solid to me.
