2022 Draft Class of WRs

Mike Harley out of Miami seems like a perfect fit in the later rounds. Fast little guy that gets open and catches the ball.

Last year, NE placed a 2nd-round tender on Jackson and there was no interest.

Now, we're expected to believe a team will give up a 1st rounder + sign him for $77M. Alrighty then.

Maybe...not sure. Remember that the landscape might be different now since Jackson proved himself as a true number one cover corner. Teams are desperate for top-flight CB help; it is the second most difficult position to fill. A shutdown corner is like having an extra man on the field since the safety can come down.

I’m terrified of Mcdaniels trading one spot in front of us and grabbing Bama Williams.
Gawd, I hope not. There are a couple of reasons that I am not too worried about this. First off, McDaniels needs to show quick results and Jameson is a long-term investment; he may not even play this year. The other reason is that McDaniels may be a Drake London type of guy (i.e. M'Keal Harry may have been his choice). Besides McDaniels has a bad track record at drafting so we can only hope. Jameson did not run at the combine, of course, so we do not have to worry about the Al-Davis-Effect (i.e. draft the fastest play no matter his skill level).

Jameson Williams is the wildcard in this draft. High risk, high reward. Chances are good that one of the 20 teams ahead of the Patriots will take the risk, alas. Even if Jameson is available at 21, do you take him? The Patriots have so many other holes to fill and there are so many other WRs available in this draft. There could be some drama on draft day...

Skyy Moore is coming here with some pick 60...

I like him, but I like his teammate Chris Olave more. He runs even smoother routes, and is more explosive. Best route runner in the draft, amazing hands and jumping ability/body control, and excellent speed. For you old timers, I see him as a bigger Lynn Swann, and he has some Lance Alworth in him.
Olave put up blazing 40 times at the Combine, so yeah, but I think he may be headed into high-first-round territory....I just watched some highlights, and he has excellent acceleration after the catch; no one can get him. However his build is frail and I saw him blanketed by a top CB (but he made the catch) so I cannot tell if he can get open, possibly not. Most of the catches I saw were against big holes in zone coverage. I think he is a risky pick, a guy who test well but cannot get open...

Maybe, but I am worried that Bo Melton from, yes, Rutgers will be overdrafted by the Patriots....I watched some Bo Melton highlights and he showed good acceleration...against UMass, ahem. But he is shifty and quick so it would not be a terrible choice.

No more Rutgers and Arizona folks.. Georgia and bama should be priority . And also no wolverines on defense please..

Jets have burks at the top of their wr ranking their gm is pushing for him, don’t know if that changed source pfn
They are also high on Trevor penning
Some expect the Offense Line FA not too heavy priced due to a good draft class according to pfn

I expect patriots use their #1 on either a LB or WR. Lloyd would be great, OR, Olave/Williams/Dotson. 2nd round - Metchie.

Fred: what do you think of Alec Pierce?? Gotta say I'm impressed he looks like a Rookie who could play right away.

This is an excellent year for WR like that Harry year. There are so many intriguing prospects ie... Outside or in the Slot. I am for Trading 21 picking up an extra pick and double dip at WR. We need a X WR and a Slot guy. As long as they stay Clear of that Harry clone according to FredFD. BB should be able to make two good picks in the dark blind folded.

With JC almost certainly hitting FAcy, I'd much rather they take a top CB w/the 1st pick and avoid the dreaded Rd 2 CB pick. That our a DL.

Of course, Bill probably picks a RB in the 1st because chess v checkers and all.

Hmmmm that George Pickens looks very good too BB loves Georgia players. Pickens reminds me of a faster better version of Malcom Mitchell.

Funny how BB have a nack for finding UDFA Gems at CB and completely blows on second round selections of them. The Tavon Austin selection was the worse had Reach written all over it.

This is a good point. WRs are a dime a dozen, but quality CBs are like hens teeth, so yes if he can get over his early CB jinx....

There should be plenty of good WRs in the second round...

LB or DT for me. I would be shocked (happens every 5 year or so) if the patriots draft a WR in the first round.

The LB class is pretty deep , I don’t know if I would go this direction maybe in a trade down but I don’t get why not more people pump for DE or CB with the first pick
J.C. is unlikely to resigned imo and even with JC we need another outside CB so in this case we need two outside starting CB
We don’t have a starting DE outside of Judon, Wise isn’t getting the job done at a starting level imo and the other LB are unknown and especially maybe not in the plan for the Edge position since we need LB as well
