2022 Draft Class of WRs

Jalen Ramsey would command more than a first round pick. Again, elite CBs are a commodity in the NFL. If an average QB Carson Wentz can get a first and a third, Jackson can get a first.

Personally, I do not think he is an elite CB, but some do. If that is a GM of a team in need of an elite CB, they might give a first rounder.
Might be wishful thinking at this point but anything can happen. I can't see them investing in JC Jackson with some questionable contracts on this roster ie... Smith and Agholor. Also this Team needs an infusion of younger better talent to weed out the Old.

That is why the Pats are most likely to tag and trade Jackson.

And Aghlor can be cut this offseason pretty easily.

Really hope it happens for their sake Agholor never impressed me.

Watched all the top WR highlights, and Jameson Williams really stands out.

Do you take him if he drops that low even with an ACL injury?

He might not be ready to go until midway through the season.

Doesn't matter. There is no way we are gonna hit such a receiver in draft. If he drops to 21 , just draft him .. else the chiefs or bills are gonna get him .

I see the eagles trading their pick for a team which wants to draft Williams . He should be 15-21 . So let's see.

His stats put him amongst the top 5 CBs in the league. And that includes if you look at everything but his rookie year.

I did a comparison of him with the top 8 highest paid and he was top 5 in every category. Including being targeted the 2nd most. And yet, QB just didn't do well against him.

Look for guys who can get open based on their route running skills alone. Speed is a nice bonus. But in the NFL, lots of guys have speed. Attention to detail, ability to fake a guy out in your route are far more valuable.

Randy Moss wasn't JUST a burner. Jerry Rice was never noted for his pure speed. Those guys were exceptional route runners, exceptionally deceptive. Look for those skills instead of the pure physical ones.

If a team believes Jackson is true shutdown CB, a first round pick is just their opening offer. At his age, he is the Holy Grail for teams if they think he is a CB who can lockdown one side of the field. His salary won't be too high. And a first round pick isn't too much. It might be too little.

Almost every team is desperate for a lockdown CB. Other than QB, there is probably no position more valued in this league.

Right now, Jackson is the best CB in free agency. Statistically, he is an elite CB. The question is whether teams believe that he is actually an elite CB. If they do, you could see multiple teams willing to give up a first round pick for an elite CB who is only 26 years old.
yeah- I hear ya… I think you threw all those “if’s” in there because you don’t believe he’s a true shutdown corner… and neither do I. He did great when he was the number 2 guy, next to Gilmore, covering another number 2 WR but he hasn’t really killed it as the number 1. If you and I can see that, front offices who have to pay the $18M/yr he’s gonna want- also can see it. Someone might be willing to pay him that salary, and someone else might be willing to trade a 1, but I’d be surprised if someone was willing to trade a 1 AND pay him that big per year cost… which is what it would take for a tag and trade to work out.

McDaniels owes us for stealing the assistants and probably for the drafting of Harry. He needs to pony up and give us a draft pick for either Harry and/or Agholor. Only half-joking.

The Raiders DO need WRs. Agholor and Harry are both McDaniels influence. I'm hoping that they go to the Pats with an offer before the draft. Agholor would be reunited with Carr and Harry would get a new lease on life.

I would guess it depends on what happens with Devante Adams. I'm all for moving on from Harry and to a lesser extent Agholor.

No he can't. They'd save around 5 and eat 10million.

McDaniels was calling plays in New England. They weren't being used much at all. i could see Agholor back with Carr, but Harry? Doubt it.

There was this video by a guy on youtube that talked about the past 20 (now 22) super bowl contenders. I'll link it. The point there has been a tend on how to build a super bowl team.

You need to be top 7 in as many of the following as possible... QB play, pass catching and coverage. You don't need to be top 7 in all of them, but the more the better. You also can't particularly suck anywhere. Pass rush can be valuable but you need to be dominant at it or it is pretty much a waste of an investment. So either you have the best pass rush or you have nothing. Unless you are lucky enough to face badly injured offensive lines in the playoffs.

The point of this post is that WR has become super valuable in the modern NFL. It use to be an over hyped position, but the reality has now caught up to the hype under the new rules. If the Pats want a chance to win (assuming Jones won't be a top 7 QB we almost need a top 7 pass catching core (this can be TEs and RBs too though... but you need WRs). So we need to hit here. And we need to invest here.

???

Why do we have a cap hit of more than $5M if he is traded? We would woe more only if the new team cut him before paying him.

Once a player is traded the other team is responsible for any remaining unpaid guarantees.

Really? Did you watch the last 2 Buffalo games? Because they say differently.

That's fine, but you are changing the topic of the conversation - the definition of "the problem" that the OP brought here.

Really?? And how do expect this Team to compete?? No big play potential on O Brady isn't coming through that door. Mac will reflect the Talent we have on O which is not much currently. Harry is already done and Agholor is about to be yikes Mac ain't working miracles with any of those guys.
Ok. First, I do not see Harry on the team in 2022.

Second, who do you cut? Bourne and Meyers stay, Agholor, Smith and Henry carry big cap hits. All I said was to go get another veteran WR in free agency. I did not say stand pat. See what you can bring in free agency. That's it.

The Patriots have six draft choices. Six or fewer position groups to choose a player in the draft. I would not take a WR in the draft. My choices are OL, DL, LB and DB. Six picks.

They did not lose to the Bills in the playoffs because of the offense. The Bills scored on all seven possessions. The defense never got off the field. What would you do?
