OT: Tuukka quits again

Tuuka Rask could bring you to the dance but could never seal the deal. Game 6 vs Chicago was one of the all time greatest goaltender chokes of all time. Up 2-1 with inside 1 minute to go, Rask lets in 2 goals to lose the game and the Cup. Home ice, Game 7 vs St Louis and this f ing bum turns into a sieve and chokes again.
Lets not forget this a s s h o l e quit on his team in the bubble.
Rask will forever be the guy who put up impressive #s but could never win the big game when he needed to win the big game. He never delivered the command performance when the Bruins needed. There was never a shutout in a game 7, there was never standing on his head down 3-2 in a series to win the series - never.
I've seen better big game Stanley Cup goaltending from mediocre guys.
in both of his Cup runs Rask won a game 7 twice, both in the first round vs Toronto, and in 2013 it took a miracle finish after he leaked 4 goals.
I'm happy he's gone, I just hope they don't lose Bergeron because reporters were saying the only reason the club brought back Rask was to make Bergeron happy.....Go back to Finland Tuuka....

All signs point to Bergeron just wanting to walk away after the season.

Seems like the guy can't catch a break or the break won't come to him LOL!

I don't have a dog in the hunt, I am at best a casual B's fan, so take this with a grain of salt. There's a lot of Tuukka hate in this thread for basically not being Tim Thomas. Not hard to think people will turn on MJ10 for not being TB12.

In sports, the guys who rise to the occasion are the ones we love the most, and Rask unfortunately was the opposite.

He had two shots at a cup. In 2013, game 1, Bruins are up 3-1 in the 3rd and he blows it. Bruins are up 2-1 in the series, and Rask gets 5 goals to work with in game 4. B's lose 6-5. Then he gives up 2 goals in the last minute in game 6, lights out. 2019, game 7, they never had a chance. On and on.

Better hockey minds than me could probably dissect these games and explain why it wasn't his fault, but at the end of the day sports is about winning.

Tom Brady said it was ok.

If Mac becomes personally responsible for pissing away at least two championships, then yeah we will AND SHOULD turn on him.

As we all saw during the WC & Divisional POs, if you don't make your breaks you don't catch any either...

vs Chicago, the goal to tie it at 2 was really on the D and the winger not getting a stick/body on the goal scorer in front of the net. It’s also on the 3 Bs not named Rask that had a chance to get the puck out of the zone. The winning goal came off of a turnover that led to a shot, which was stopped and a tip-in. The guy that scored was Boychuck’s responsibility and he never got a body on the Chicago player, he got caught puck watching.

He had a great career for the B's with obvious playoff issues. He racked up more wins than Billy Smith, and Mike Richter who did win cups on their teams. What could have been though..........

In the end, he was Ron Hextall, without the temper.
