It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Eh I knew Mcdaniels would poach. There's a rumor going around the Raiders fanbase that Mick Lombardi is going to be their OC. They even changed his Wikipedia page to say so. If that's accurate, it would likely narrow things down to either Caley or an outside hire.
Once the Alabama fans heard what he said there was collective groan throughout the Bama Nation! Then again, Saban has always been good at hiring coaches and I have to admit, Coach Saban probably knows more about football than me and our fan base!Yea based on what Saban said sounds like it.
It's a promo for Bo and seems Bill had no immediate plans for him
I bet Josh won't name an OC.
Hoyer as QB coach?
All it takes is one call or text from Belichick.Once the Alabama fans heard what he said there was collective groan throughout the Bama Nation! Then again, Saban has always been good at hiring coaches and I have to admit, Coach Saban probably knows more about football than me and our fan base!
Help me understand the issue 'Bama fans have with BOB? The team finished 7th in offense, went to the BCS Champ game and had a QB win the Heisman.Once the Alabama fans heard what he said there was collective groan throughout the Bama Nation! Yea good point. Looks just like Hoyer lolI think it’s Lombardi as QB coach and de facto OC.
BB: hey Nick, how about letting me have O'Brien back?!?!?!?All it takes is one call or text from Belichick.
We will see.
I don't agree that the Krafts are ready to hand total control of the football operations to one guy again. It's too risky and creates a conflict with the HC and players when HC is wearing the GM hat. We saw it happen with BB. Now, Bill was able to pull it off rather succesfully but with no GOAT in sight, I doubt they give Fat Matt all that power. They’ll not name anyone as either an OC or DC as to do so means they have to comply with the Rooney rule. Plus, info like that needs to be kept a state secret in a megalomaniac’s mind.
Look for new hires to have a connection to Matt Patricia like the new hires last off-season because with McDaniels being pushed out (family-oriented Christian midwesterner uprooting his family to go to Vegas, yea right), it’s obvious the Krafts have let Belichick plan his own successor, and Bill chose Patricia.
I’m not looking forward to that ride my fellow Pats’ fans.
They should elevate Wolf.I don't agree that the Krafts are ready to hand total control of the football operations to one guy again. I'm also not entirely convinced they'll agree to let Bill pick his heir. The BB era dynasty is dead. This team needs new minds and ideas. We've seen others try to mimic Bill's style and fail miserably (i.e. Fat Matt).
I think Fat Matt is being groomed for a GM position but they'll probably go with a young HC with modern ideas, analytics saavy, and that knows how to text.
There were too many games that were too close because he made so stupid play calls or made too many predictable play calls.Help me understand the issue 'Bama fans have with BOB? The team finished 7th in offense, went to the BCS Champ game and had a QB win the Heisman.
Whats the deal?
Why?No way it’s Patricia.
That’s a terrifying thought.
I’d rather see Judge as the successor.
If those are the options.
Alabama ran in first down 59.9% of the time last year. 55.0% in 2020, and 54.9% in 2019.There were too many games that were too close because he made so stupid play calls or made too many predictable play calls.
We would have the ball 1st and goal on the 5, he would call pass plays on the 1st 3 plays then we kick a field goal. In college with our RBs, you run the ball there on at least 2 plays. Everyone knows that.
We would be moving down the field with short passes, a few good runs, then get to the 20-30 and he would call the next 3 passes into the end zone rather than continue to move the ball for 1st downs. That was so obvious in the NCG. Again we settled for field goals, just like the NCG.
1st and 2nd quarter, his play calling was so freaking predictable. Pass, run, pass. This was the time when Bama normally builds the lead and then in the 3rd and 4th puts their foot on the opponents neck. We couldn't built up leads in the 1st quarter because he was so predictable and conservative. I once said to my husband when we at a game, If me, a middle aged woman sitting in the stadium knows he going to pass on 1st down, don't you think their DC knows it? Our OL got a bad rap this year, and sometimes they deserved it, but when the defense knows when you are going to pass and when you aren't, the defense has a huge advantage.
As a lot of us fans feel, he has too much NFL in him. But if Saban has confidence in him, I will support Saban's decision.
Promote Mayo to OC??I recall reading that Hoyer didn’t want to coach. It’s a lot more of a grind than being a backup QB. I think he comes back as a backup.
I agree that McD might not name an OC.
Two wacky ideas: select an up and coming OC from the college ranks. Promote Mayo to OC (knows the Pats really offense well and is smart).
