Tom Brady Retires (Update: Shouts out to Pats players, coaches on social media)

My theory is he was waiting for Belichick to say something lol TB can be petty after all

There were definitely hurt feelings. I thought the two buried the hatchet back in October but it seems like Brady was just looking for more recognition from Bill. I think if Bill provided that back in 2019, Brady would have stayed.

Now get that 1 day contract done, Tom and Kraft...

You know, this has been my home for 20 years, so um... I have the best memories, my kids were born here, um, You know, it's just a great town, it's a great city, it's a great area. I love it up here. I have so many people I have relationships with....
Nothing in this sport can be accomplished without incredible teammates and coaches. I've just been blessed for 22 years to be with some amazing people. The quarterback can't do anything if the guys don't catch the ball....
I'm going to be part of this community for a long time. So, you know, they'll see me around, and I'll be here at games and uh... When it's all said and done and I retire, you know, I'll be around and they'll get a chance to see more of me.

Excerpts from his post game interview here Oct. 3.

What's worse is there will be alot of Steelers fans at that ceremony. Ugh.
Yeah I’ve heard Steeler fans are planning a Canton takeover, especially due to the short distance. Hopefully they aren’t booing TB the whole time.

I’m sure parts of our fan base will join them.

Media & fans could possibly still say it's all damage control.

Whether it was damage control or from the heart, it was the right thing to do and a good tribute and thank you to his teammates from both clubs. I give him credit no matter the motives. But I think even if it is damage control, I do feel the sentiment was true. And that is what matters most to me.

I thought that if anyone should feel slighted the other day from his announcement was the Patriots teammates that he didn't thank. Good for Brady to post this and give them the proper shout out.
Didn't seem to bother them. In the face of greatness, men aren't concerned with trivialities.

Ehhh it was only 2 years but he broke pretty much every QB record in franchise history lol. So there is that
#12 should be retired for both teams. He’s the ****ing GOAT. Probably would have repeated with the Bucs if the team didn’t go down to injury and AB.

Similar to how he also probably would have won rings in 2012-2013.

I never said any of them were. I said if anyone should be insulted, it would be them. I am saying any slight to them was worse than to the fans or Kraft or Belichick. But that didn't mean that any of them took the slight personally. I just meant that they deserved recognition more than anyone else not mentioned and a lot of other people who were mentioned in his retirement announcement.

Again, I am on record saying I didn't care that he didn't thank anyone with the Patriots in his initial retirement announcement. I thought it was an unforced error on his part, but not a huge deal.

That's right. And you know what? Life is good. There will be no extra credit or loyalty points awarded for you, while I'll do whatever I damn well please, root for whoever I want to root for, and at the end of the day, I'll enjoy posting here when I want and I'll enjoy my life off this forum. On the other hand, you'll still be a miserable, insufferable loser with no life whose life's mission to extract "Bradyites" was a giant waste of time and effort. Such a sad existence.
This.

All his teammates loved/love the man. Never heard one negative thing from teammates.

Well....... Antonio Brown kinda sorta did. But that b***ch be cray-cray.

No just being annoyed with front runners, who bailed on the Pats to follow a player who left.
You’re a great example of why I not only have a fast-souring opinion of Massachusetts sports-fans, but also a bad enough opinion of insufferable Massholes, thanks to a five year stint on Cape Cod, that I actually moved to Florida.

You literally deserve to be cold lol.

I hope your stop at Dunkin’ this morning absolutely sucked.

Some people root for the Laundry some for a player, you are the latter, your business. I was fine with what Brady did. but I didn't swoon over him every week when he wasn't here I am focused on the Patriots. I didn't follow the Broncos when Welker went there either. You are a fan of a player over the team, which some of find annying ie YOU are who we are annoyed with not the ex player.
Again Wut? It's amazing that you and others think you set the rules for fandom especially when discussing the greatest football player and Pats player in NFL history.

Well done. Well said.
