What do you guys think about brady wanting to meet flores when under contract if indeed the report is true?
Since Brady was still a Patriot at the time, we lose all of our Draft picks and surrender a Lombardi Trophy.

They interviewed him before making a hire. What didn’t they complete?
??? My original post said that if they told Daboll he had the job when Belichick knew it, then they obviously DIDN'T complete the process.

If the mystery QB is indeed Brady, then it was done following the season ending game and during the start of an offseason when he would become a free agent, so that puts it in the "legalized tampering" category at worst.

Who knows. Major balls by Flo to even take on an owner.

I'm under the assumption that Flo has evidence (more BB texts, texts from Daboll to BB, texts from Mara) that show a timeline of Daboll being "hired" without Flo even being considered when there is a rule demanding he is.

Maybe the NFL blocks discovery. Maybe Flo has the texts. Who knows. Need to see everything (or nothing ) to see if there is a legitimate case.
First, I’m pretty sure the giants had already satisfied the Rooney rule ( but not 100% sure)
Secondly, because the NFL has rules about the interview process it doesn’t make it illegal for a team but to follow them. The league could fine the team, but the team can’t be sued in court for not following a league rule.

It was the offseason when he was now going to be a FA but before the Legal Tampering Period which literally every free agent laughs at as they negotiate contracts months prior. Unless you believe that every contract Schefter announces 5 minutes into the Tampering Period were only just negotiated in those 5 minutes.

I just posted about this. There's so much to unpack here but this sticks out more than anything imo. No secret the league has had a problem with black QB's, owners and HC's but an owner trying to "tank" is as bad as it gets in pro sports.

Respect for Flo, he has likely ended his career in the NFL over this. What he is saying is very believable so hopefully he has proof of the accusations.

The report said it was in 2020, so he wasn’t under contract.
Winter 2020 so... Brady was still under contract. March 17th is the end of the contract. Brady was allowed to talk to people though a week before his contract ran out.

Also, Flores would have been more willing obviously to talk to Brady if it wasn't for the fact he knew it would be illegal.

So they didn’t complete the process if they process was what you are assuming?
Daboll wasn’t hired until after the interview. So what they were thinking or planning doesn’t make the process incomplete, Flores had his chance to beat out Daboll, because Daboll was not hired yet.

?? You're twisting yourself in pretzels here. Flores is alleging the job was given to Daboll before his interview so obviously if that's true the process was not complete.

Apologies - I didn't see your post! It's just unreal that in his arrogance an owner could be this daft to risk losing it all.

The legal period would be part of winter 2020 as well.
Assuming the facts are as presented, but at this point they are an accusation.

No I am dealing with facts. Daboll was not hired until after Flores interview. Hired as in offered the job, accepted and signed a contract.
Rumors heard by belichick are irrelevant.

Absolutely no team is dumb enough to go down the rabbit hole of being mad about one of their FAs talking to teams when it’s the offseason but they’re still technically under contract for a few more weeks. You will never be able to successfully sign a FA ever again.

The trick is proving it.
Everyone knew the colts tanked but no one could prove it.

I don't know how many different ways I can say it. Flores is alleging that Daboll was offered the job a week (at least) prior to Flores's interview.

Maybe?

Not a lawyer but it seems if he can prove the Giants violated Title VII and did not follow the Rooney Rule then maybe he can sue for damages. I just don't know.
