If it goes to trial it's past the stage of an NFL investigation. Discovery is a different animal.

I assume Flores wouldn't say this in the suit if he didn't have proof.

There are tons of reasons for him to include things he cannot prove to support his case. They would be presented as Flores testimony and have a bearing in who you believe.

A few interesting things come to light from these texts.
1. BB has sources all over the league - knows who Giants are hiring before any news came out.
2. BB and Flores still text, and they seem quite cordial
3. BB is as bad at phone apps as he jokes
4. Thankfully, the only thing that should affect BB is his relationship with whomever he gets intel from at the Giants. He's not involved in this mess at all - except for alerting Flores of the selection.

When Flores got fired, I said he got hosed. Ross is a jackass, no doubt. But that doesn't imply discrimination in the firing. If a white coach had done the exact same thing, he'd have been fired too.

This is also creates a catch-22 we've seen before. When you hire a POC, you are putting yourself in the position where you may very well be called racist if you have to fire him. That's a helluva incentive not to hire one in the first place.

If he had proof that he was ordered to tank, he’s still be the dolphins coach. And before you say he wouldn’t want to work for a racist, he stayed 3 more years, and didn’t resign.

If it’s about teams not following the Rooney Rule why are the Dolphins part of it? They hired him.


Sure it’s all speculation but think it’s virtually a lock that the NFL will not come to the conclusion that hurts them.

Flores could be suggesting that Ross was trying to force him to do things that Ross would never ask a white coach to do. Seems a hard argument to make, though. An owner like Ross thinks he ought to be able to tell ANYBODY to jump and only hear back "how high?"

WRONG as can be on all accounts.

We have combines. At the combine we see which athletes are superior, and the NFL scouts judge accordingly. Beyond that, I can tell you as someone who coaches a sport in the inner city that there is huge purchase among African Americans in the cities when it comes to basketball and football. We can't get many kids to play soccer or baseball. They simply won't do it.

So I'm not talking GENETICS. I'm talking about both participation and performance (like the combine, for example).
