Tom Brady Retires (Update: Shouts out to Pats players, coaches on social media)

Brady already said his goodbyes to us 2 years ago. Don't have a problem with him not repeating himself here. I'm sure the Patriots will have something planned for him this fall and he will retire a Patriot.

Yeah. Zero mention of the Pats.

Apparently he was a lifelong Buc? Who knew?
He already thanked the Patriots two years ago when he left. And I have no doubt something big will be planned in Gillette with him. There will be a street in Boston that will be renamed after him probably, a statue at Gillette, a Tom Brady night, his Jersey retired. Probably a badge on the jersey saying « thank you TB12 » next year.

He said it himself when he left the Patriots that he would be back in Boston

People really think he's signing some ceremonial thing when he doesn't even mention the Pats in his retirement announcement? Like i've assumed Brady won't have any involvement with the Pats while Bill is still in charge.

He made it a point to even mention U Michigan in reference to Don Yee as a shout out. He does not like the Patriots organization. Worst case scenario just occurred for Pats fans. Is what it is I guess

This was 2 years ago and more than good enough for me. Don't see the need for him to repeat himself now.

The Forever GOAT.
The only request I have: Tommy please don't haunt my late night TV with product commercials.

Not a single photo of him in a Patriots uniform in that IG post lol...

He already did 2 seasons ago. Doesn't bother me. I'm sure something is planned for him in NE anyway.
He already sent a huge thanks and goodbye when he left New England. Now he’s covering everyone that he hadn’t done yet.
This was a retirement announcement. If he was leaving Tampa Bay, but continuing to play, the "thank you" list makes perfect sense.

But given that retirement is more of a career retrospective, it seems very strange to leave out the place you played 90% of your games.

I am 100% sure something is coming, but I still find it very odd - and perhaps telling - that so many were omitted off the official announcement.

You know how he always talks about his 199 draft position chip on his shoulder. Seems like he considers the Patriots letting him go as a similar chip, a slight that he used to motivate himself in Tampa. And one he's not letting go of, even as he retires.

I'm sure there will be plenty of time for Brady to be honored back in New England as a retired player.

Can we start a poll: is Brady combing back in 2023? After a year with Gisele and his kids consistently on his ass for a year, I bet he would want to be by himself for 6 month a year

If he has a Bucs press conference and not a NE one, it will be telling...but we'll see

I just lived this day

I feel like a Bills fan. Ripped my heart out twice

He probably won't sign a 1 day contract with the Patriots either at this rate.

I'm not surprised.

There's a reason why Peyton Manning didn't retire as a Colt.

Yall might not like it, but from a players perspective, you're going to feel spited if the team you won rings with didn't want to ride out your career.

Why would there be, he isn't leaving the Pats?!
...and why would we care in any event ?
-Tom, can you win a bunch of SBs in NE ?
-Sure.

That's all I needed.
