Unfortunately, there are many needs on D if you spend what the market dictates on JCJ may have issues with filling other needs..

Time to move on from Hightower & McCourty ( that is upsetting).

I went to OVerthe Cap and used the calculator to get the Pats to $32 million in cap space by....

Cutting Wynn is a no brainer, saves over 10 million with no dead money.

McCourty is done, he is brutally bad and a giant waste of cap space. Even when he is no longer on the team next year, he is still going to over $2 million in cap space.

Hightower is also done.

Its time to admit thier draft busts and cut Harry, Slowjuan, Winovich, Asiasi, and Keene.

Other cuts, Henry Anderson, Guy.

The only FAs I would bring back is JCJ (probably have to franchise him), Meyers (original round tender), Brown, and Folk (these moves eat up @ 19 million in cap space)

Let me elaborate.
I don’t want to invest a ton of cap to JC Jackson we need to rebuild the D line, the Linebackers, O line, WRs. Spending so much cap on one player is not the solution.
We need new talent all over the team as well as new coaches.
Honestly this would be a terrible end for Belichick. If im Kraft right now everything’s on the table including looking at Belichick.
Maybe you trade Belichick to the Giants for some picks.
I’d franchise and trade JC, we need all the picks we can get.
Honestly that post someone made about the Colts pain in the locker room was Karma that led up to this.
We need to scrap the old ways todays NFL is not the NFL from
20 years ago. We need Mac to work on throwing power and getting stronger.
I would love to be a fly on the wall for Belichicks, Krafts meeting.

What a load of sh.t. They lost because they hurt the Colts feelings? Trade Belichick to the Giants? You do realize he’s not a player, right? Are you one of Woody Johnson’s offspring? If you were a fly on the wall anyone with half a brain would take their shoe off and make you go splat.

“ We need to scrap the old ways….and have Mac get stronger.” Yeah, this working out stuff is brand new to the NFL.

You really need to stop with the knee jerk reactions you give every day. Rebuilding a team takes time and patience. Go look at the post by Robert Weathers, as that is a critical look at this team that recognizes the things they need to do to become a true contender again. He’s no less critical than you or anyone else, but he isn’t bat shot crazy thinking they need to burn the whole thing down and go get the “ hottest” commodity head coach, an approach that leads to disaster for every franchise that goes that route. The Patriots have plenty of work to do, and it will likely includes letting many of their veterans go their own way, and that will almost certainly include JC Jackson, but they will do it in a measured and intelligent fashion, with the intent on building a stronger team for next year and the future.

And if you think that Kraft is going to bring Belichick and ream him out you are living in fantasy land. Belichick and Brady are the reasons that Kraft’s franchise went from a value of around 250 million to 2 Billion plus, and if Belichick tells him to pound sand and walks off it will screw any hopes they have of becoming a true contender again for a long long time.

We will see.
Kraft already publicly and rightfully so questioned the drafts.
Supposedly Kraft said that Tom won one on his own, now it’s Bills turn.
Kraft spent a ton of money on a free agent haul that netted him total embarrassment.
Everything needs to be reevaluated.

“ We need to scrap the old ways……”

Name the GM who has won more Lombardi’s in the last ten years than Belichick?”

That’s the most recent history in the NFL.

No one else has more than one.

KVN, Collins, Anderson can go.
HT & DMC could stay as cheap transitionary leaders. Or if either retired I wouldn't be surprised.
Slater should retire - his value on ST just isn't as versatile as we need in the passing game or secondary.
Bolden did well, but if White comes back strong, I don't know if we keep both.
Bentley has value, with better speed around him at LB, he could emerge as the new HT.
Wynn did pretty well the bulk of the season, I don't think we should lose him in favor of Herron or Cajuste.
Brown/Karras deserve to stay - try to keep that OL in tact

Im fine with bringing KVN back. The rest can go. Especially Wynn. Jackson is good but he's not Gilmore. They need to redo this entire WR core. Bourne is solid and Hunter Henry is too. Smith probably stays. But the rest? They can go too. Lots of moves need to happen this offseason

The man just had a really solid draft, and an above avg. FA. He took a team with a rookie QB to the playoffs, and you want to trade him to the Giants for draft capital? So, that what? Who are you going to bring in? Bill leaves, that means most of the entire staff would leave. You’d be starting all over with a brand new coach at almost every level. All new FO guys. The works. Then they would gut the roster to build it the way that they want it. That would take years, but good thing that draft capital we got by trading away the GOAT coach is now all moving onto their second contract.

Keep Folk, but Trent "Turnstile" Brown can get down the road.

The 2021 Super Bowl talk was foolishness.

This team is in rebuild mode and maybeeee they can have a shot at a Super Bowl in 2 - 3 years assuming the drafts go right.

I mean he had Tom Brady. Every GM would look good if they had Tom Brady

I’m pretty sure that when you pick up a 5th year option, that contract is fully guaranteed. We’re on the hook for Wynns money.

Most on that list should be able to be signed cheap or leave. They're mostly old or JAG.

JC is the obvious exception. Hoping they can Franchise & Trade him. Would love to keep him but we're just OK in cap space and putting close to $20 into him would leave little room to do anything else. If we could F&T, we would have money to sign more players and pick up some picks. Would love to keep him but say a 2&4 were available for a trade I'd take the picks and the cap space.

Stay -
Jcj, meyers (erfa) , karras, bolden, white, slater. Other than jcj these shouldn’t be tough. For the right price, keep Bentley. But very replaceable/upgradeable if hes going to cost much

Go -
dmc retire or move on
brown- i like him but injury prone and we need money elsewhere imo… onwenu steps in at rt

defense - big help needed but we still have a decent core with jcj (hopefully), dugger, phillips, mills to fs, j jones, bryant in a lesser role, judon, barmore, wise.
Unknowns who may help - mcgrone, Bledsoe, mcmillan, uche (still could turn it around). Somehow this grooup carried us the majority of the season but got exposed down the stretch.

offense - set at qb and rb if we get white back. Te good. Ol is okay in above scenario. Depth in each area can help. Wr probably need another playmaker or slot guy to go with what we have. Wilkerson showed promise, can maybe make agholor expendable to free up space and try another vet. They showed signs this year and I think are an encouraging outlook. Just need to be a little more consistent, lots of highs and lows but as we saw in the 3 games that averaged 50 pts , lots of potential when focused. Hopefully jones takes a leap.

Id focus on d this offseason. Need a great draft… if we could land 2-3 impact players again all on that side of the ball and modest improvement on offense we could make some noise next year. If agholor/godchaux are realeased that frees up some cash, we could have around $20m to spend after keeping ours in that case but mostly need a great draft for real improvements.

D-Mac- GO come back for the red jacket
Brown- STAY
Hightower- GO you too my friend
JCJ- STAY
Karras- STAY
Slater- STAY
White- GO and you too
Bolden- STAY
Hoyer- EHHHHH
Folk- STAY
Collins- GO wish he would have stayed over the years...
Bentley- STAY could convince me that he should go too...ehhh

Meyers- STAY

Agree with this bar White, would never turn him down if he can actually play.
