Is McDaniels too conservative on offense?

One thing that we are probably missing is we don't have a consistent first read i.e WR1 hence Mac needs to really scan the field and hence every pass play is added pressure on the QB .

And the players do not get open immediately , hence Mac goes for safety valve which is bolden and he has done a phenomenal job replacing white. One thing I am not understanding is why are they not using Jonnu as the safety valve. He is great in YAC and does decent blocking . So why not use the bolden / Jonnu tandem.

Why will he rework when he knows he is not going to get another pay day like this.

Do you want to sign agholor for another 2 years at say 4 million a year. Doubt if he accepts that . We are due 10 million for him next year and that's minimum over pay of like six million .

Or extend him to 3 years 20 with 13 million guaranteed and take a 4 million hit and trade him to some other team. But not sure how he will agree to that when he knows that his last contract was 2 /24.

He will try to perform the best next year . So let's hope he does well next season else he is losing millions in next contract.

If I'm reading this correctly, wouldn't we save $4.88M by cutting him?

Dead cap is 10 million . So not sure how the savings will help us unless you get a better receiver for 5 million or Wilkerson suddenly becomes a monster playmaker during playoffs.

Maybe somebody else might sign him for 3 million thereby reducing dead cap to 7 million?

I think 5 million is about what Nelson is worth.

Agreed. But who will pay 5 million for him. If we cut him , we have a dead cap of 10 million. If we keep him we have to pay at least 12 million considering in game bonus . So it's just additional 2 million and you can only get a veteran wr at veteran minimum of 1.3 I guess. So no point in that.

Only way I see we can gain is if we redo his contract to 2 years and absorb the dead cap hit over 2 years while dealing him off to another team . That way 5 million this year and 5 million next year.

Maybe raiders might be interested again in him for 3-4 million . 2 years 22 million 12 million guaranteed of which 7 million is sign on bonus .50k in game roster bonus and rest as performance based pay. Provided agholor agrees .

Then we trade him to raiders. So their cap hit for agholor for 2022 is just around 3 million .

I don't think he's conservative at all. McD puts us into the plays but Jones and the skill positions need to execute. Outside of Bourne, we still lack playmakers. Teams aren't going to give us Henry up the seam more than once a game tops.

I just came across this petition raised by eagles fans 5 years back..

Agholor apparently was ranked 22nd of 23 wide receivers taken in the first round over the last 5 years in terms of receiving production. And the words used for him are hands of stone .. same as Harry.

So essentially to fix the Harry mistake we signed Harry Sr at a 10 million dollar premium . We should just stick to budget signings for wide receivers . Maybe a deebo Samuels or davante Adams magically fall to us in 3rd or 4th round .we drafted Mitchell in 4th round , so we should try a wr in 4th round .

Yep... Don't know who recommended that particular signing to Bill at that particular price, but the Agholor deal was a ****ing Dud from Day 1...We all knew it then too...

have you seen the smith deal?

Sometimes you have to take the hit and cut your losses....

Good Bye Nelson....

Hello WR#1.

have you seen the smith deal?

Yeah the money sucked there too, but at least in Smith's case I really thought he would help here and provide more bang for the buck than Whoa Nellie would... But then the season started...

I don't know - on quite a few breakdowns we have seen Nelson wide open. Production doesn't really account for everything. It's how often does a player do his job correctly and get open. Nelson has speed - so he usually ends up open fairly deep and Mac seems to avoid those throws.

Harry OTOH hardly ever gets separation - at any distance down field. So I don't think they are the same player at all.

Smith is the same thing. Is the problem that he isn't getting open - or Mac isn't getting him the ball? Or maybe he is making mental mistakes? This is the kind of thing the coaching staff needs to figure out. Fans just go by straight production - and if your QB is just taking the checkdowns - this is not a good way to evaluation people.

I tend to think Mac is the problem. If Brady was here - these same guys would be way more productive. I feel our wrs are underrated - and they have taken it easy on the rookie who isn't hitting some of throws he should. Bourne is light years better then anyone Brady or Cam had IMHO. And Nelson is a legit deep threat - we saw that with the Raiders.

And BB is the odds on favorite for Executive of the Year!!!

That would be nothing short of a ****ing travesty if he's given it... The Titties' & Bungles' GMs are FAR more worthy... And that's just in the AFC...

We all have our opinions. Your opinions tend not to be those held by the majority. I guess you like being the underdog.

If I had a QB who made this mistake, I'd still be pretty conservative. That being said, I hope he throws caution to the wind this game. The more mistakes Mac makes this game, the better motivation for the offseason training redemption video montage - like Rocky in the USSR.
