2022 Mock Drafts

The AFC qb’s we’ll be facing in future playoff games; Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Herbert and maybe DeSaun Watson in Miami. CB is my top priority.

Not a bad year for tackles. Maybe, trade up in Round 2 like we did for Barmore. I’d create cap space by trading Wynn and cutting J. Jones. More than enough for extensions to Trent Brown and JC.

Those QBs certainly will be challenging, but there are multiple ways to address that. My preference would be a young stud LB. If the front 7 can get home the CBs don't have to cover as long. I also like the idea of that LB being able to make those QBs think twice about running all over the field.

Can never have enough pass rushers. I’m hoping Perkins develops. No problem with that if a good one falls

Again just for fun I looked at the same mock draft sites

Most have the Pats picking at 22/23 but there are a couple showing 29
Pats Positions Picked : 5 x CB , 1 x DE , 1 x DL , 1 x DT , 1 x Edge , 1 x S and 5 x WR (Less WR's than last week)
Most picked player for Patriots : Traylon Burks (WR) x 2

I have not listed the names but quite a few differences from last week which probably tells me the media are just sticking pins in the big boards and hoping for the best.

The talking heads on the radio here in Atlanta predicted that Davis will go to one of three teams in the first round of the draft. Chargers, Vikings or patriots.

Corner, wide receiver, offensive tackle and linebacker seem needs right now but it depends on whether we re-sign Jackson, Hightower, Brown /extend Wynn etc and what Bill thinks of some of the younger players. Are McGrone, Wade, Perkins, Bledsoe ready to step into bigger roles for example.

Agree. And at the end of the day, we need more talent so ultimately the position doesn’t matter to me in the 1st round. No RB, no QB, no kicker/punter, no strong safety type. That’s it. Every other position on the team could use a talent upgrade, so if they’re really 99% confident that this guy will fit in with the team and be a difference maker for the team, then I’m all in. Just focus on getting that evaluation right!

NFL mock draft database is still showing the Pats will select a WR at pick 21. This time it is Treylon Burks and not Chris Olave from last week. Mind you I dont know if they use the same mock sites every week or rotate them.

Must admit I am struggling with some of the names , I have not seen enough of them. A corner back is something we need and I think Wan'dale Robinson is a very quick slot type receiver we could use ?

I am not being rude here but not sure about another Edge player (Uche/Winovich/Jennings are struggling a bit which is maybe why you drafted Walker ??)

Walker is a lot bigger than those guys. I see him more as a Deatrich Wise replacement. Maybe, can anchor line from that LDE spot.

I do like it especially the adressed positions with CB and a bigger DE WR in the first rounds
The only thing is that Walker and Booth are both in comparison to other guys at their position a bit raw imo. Booth doesn’t have that much experience , if you look at his stats compared to guys like gardner mcgreary he has given up more yards in coverage but that does not make him bad, in fact I really like him especially in terms of his ability and willingness to play the run and tackle which translates well to the nfl and is rare
I think you got solid value there , need to admit I haven’t looked much into late rd prospects so far so judging only the first 3 rounds

Edit: just saw the clark pick out of lsu he is a tackling machine , nice value there some sites have ranked him higher in the mid rounds but he needs time as well
