I hated the NFL for the way they treated the AFL (they still have issues and I still pull for the AFC) and rooted for Buffalo every one of those games. I was almost as hurt as their fans when they lost.
I dunna know. I think you are a bit older than me. Jills fans were not nice to us in the late 80s early 90s. I had no issue with their losses

Bills played a soft schedule in 90 too. Maybe they weren't really as good as they were credited to be. Not their fault, the AFC overall wasn't strong in those days.

I go WAY back to the AFL at Fenway when the Bills destroyed us with Cookie Gilcrest in a snow game, but in the 90s I still rooted for the Bills because I grew up in the Boston suburbs having the NFC and especially the New York Giants shoved down our throats every Sunday. I hated that team and the NFC and hated to see the hapless Jills lose to them and their other SB masters. Later in the 90s I witnessed the train wreck of the hapless Bills going with the tackling dummy Rob (he's tall and has a strong arm!) Johnson instead of Doug Effing Flutie as they pissed away their dwindling SB contender window.

Only time I ever casually rooted for the Jills was when Flutie was there.

Just can bring myself to root for a division rival and an annoying fan base.

I rooted for those Bills teams when playing against anyone but NE, because I knew one of their players from going to the same small college, TE Pete Metzelaars.

Same here... to make matters worse, my workplace just offered me an early retirement incentive package. The hits keep piling on. :)
I'd be all over an "early out." Wait would I...

Anyway, I think it's unlikely. 2021 is being called "The Big Quit" and our guys are worried about the number of people going.

Nothing irritates Bills fans more than their team being beaten in a physical match in rough weather. They think of snow games in Buffalo as their home soil, and they like their teams very, very physical, so to be beaten at "their" style of football has them out of joint.

Frankly, I can't blame them. If I thought another team was more professional and in control than the Patriots I'd be irritated too.
The Pats under Belichick play a very physical game. It seems to work. :)

At men's bkfst south of Tamper here in FL this AM the restaurant owner came over and said, "Couldn't you guys have taken a decade off like other teams instead of coming back in just one year?" Guess my Pats shirt triggered the Packers fan. He sees a NE-Pack SB.
The funny thing is... if the Pats had found a decent QB they could have done better and not even missed a year.

Of all the teams in all the world I'd want the Pats to beat GB most of all.

Edit: The Giants are up there too.

Pretty mild Dolts fans.

They were a lot worse 20 years ago.
Great observation. I think it had something to do with the NYFL's need back then to get PEDton to the top of the hill. They, like everyone else and even some of our own fans, never saw the Pats coming.

I don't know anything about Buffalo, but I did sit on an airplane at the airport there 50 years ago. :)

I had a very bad experience with my gf/wife and two female cousins in the late 70's at a Pats home game so I shied away from Foxboro for many years and never really got close enough to judge Bills fans. I trust your judgement.

I do know the Patriots were putrid in 1990. Year two of 'the dark times'.

Not counting the kick going wide right and if Kelly didn't throw a bunch of interceptions and the Bills don't fumble a bunch of times against the Redskins and Cowboys they'd be undefeated in Super Bowls. Better than the Pats losing 3 of them. --- GreenCow:p

Discipline and physicality. Bill has had less physical teams that were still highly disciplined, although he loves being able to achieve both.

Fecking lost money on the Bills when they played Dallas in the SB. No way they lose another one of these games I thought. Close game at halftime then Thurman Thomas loses his helmet. You have to be kidding me!

I thought this guy had a hate boner for Brady. Now I'm realizing he has one for the Patriots in general, too.
