Falcons blew a 28-3 lead
Bills lost to a team who threw 3 passes

They kind of blend in together don't you think? :D

Tremendous team win last night!

this team keeps proving all the doubters wrong!

offensive line executed well and defense was great!

I think so far this is my favorite Patriots team since Imma say 04... that is, since the days when you rooted for Tommy to be something he was still becoming, not to prove something again and again just moreso.

Of course a lot depends on how this season finishes... I don't think I'll prefer it to the 01 team but depending on what they achieve, I might just. I am loving the return to the team sport concept. Yes TFB was a guy where you COULD put the whole team on his shoulders. but this game feels so much more fun when guys like Judon and Godchaux and Barmore and Phillips and Henry and Dre and Harris and Bourne and the OLine (now gelled) are all stepping up and making plays. The NE Patriots winning a game with 3 passes. That feels good.

Who won the coin toss last night? I don’t know all the rules about deferring, choosing direction, etc.

But isn’t having the wind in the 2nd and 4th quarter a huge advantage?

I've learned a lot about the coin toss today, and then again, I really haven't!

Bills messed up and deferred. They only can chose one option in the 2nd half and of course it’s going to be receive. The other team gets to chose what direction to defend. Pats got the wind in their favor in the 4th.

Meh. He was standing next to Matt Slater in the locker room and spoke to the media. My view is if he was severely racked up he would have been hidden.
At that point with a soft tissue injury it would have been impossible to know

That still isn't the narrative though regardless of the massive amounts of evidence supporting the approach as more consistently delivering sustained success versus the supernova of "huge superstar big name" chasing of the shiny object.

Just wait for the next loss, which is going to happen just with the unknown of when. Then it will be the same thing "The Patriots need stars! Cut that JAG!". Yes, I know the guy Bryant was covering was wide open on Buffalo's final throw, but the other guys on the team were doing their job too so Allen couldn't/didnt see him while trying to avoid the rush.

While many will bemoan it as "only luck", I'll still maintain that an entire team playing cohesively will INCREASE those odds of having better "luck" over the course of a season. The team being in fact greater than the sum of its parts.

Absolutely i think the patriots play the percentages better than any other team.

To be honest, given their game plan, I think that had the tables been reversed (i.e. the Pats won the toss), I think the Pats would have deferred and they would have chosen which end zone to protect to start the second half. Sure, it would have resulted in the Bills getting the ball for the start of the game as well as the start of the 2nd half, but I'm betting Bill would have thought it was the right thing to do in this game.

I started to re-watch this game this morning and just couldn't do it. This game is painful to watch. It's like watching a boxing match where the boxers have massively padded gloves. :)

Coin toss rules:

Three minutes before the start of the game, the referee meets with captains from both teams for a coin toss. The visiting team calls the toss. The winner of the toss may defer their choice to the start of the second half, or they may take the first choice of:

  1. Receiving the kickoff to start the game, or kicking off to start the game
  2. Choosing an end of the field to defend in the first quarter (with the teams switching directions at the end of the first quarter and at the end of the third quarter)
The loser of the toss gets the remaining option.

At the start of the second half, the team that did not choose first (either because they deferred their choice or because they lost the toss) gets the first choice of options.

Getting everyone ready for Wednesday:

At that point with a soft tissue injury it would have been impossible to know
If Harris' hamstring issue was severe, he wouldn't have been standing. And certainly not for the length of time the he did while talking to the media. He would have been in the Trainer's room and out of the sight of the media.. Claiming that it would have been impossible to know how bad the injury is baloney. Severe ones make it nearly impossible to stand on.

Thats not totally accurate. They could have done a number of tests and possibly an ultrasound in the locker room.
