Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Falcons

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Those

The stats also say you didn’t watch the end of the game….. :)

Josh Rosen came in and threw a pick 6. Then the 3rd stringer came in and threw a pick on his first play.
Yeah I was busy so I didn’t watch the game. I went back and looked at the whole box score and see them now

No. I thought Mac made a very ill advised throw.

but I think it‘s impressive how many posters are trying to shift the blame to Jonnu instead of just admitting rookie phenom made a bad decision. He’s not perfect, don’t deny his imperfections.

WOW. Talk about making s**t up. Could you show me where I was denying Mac's imperfections? No. You can't. Why? Because it didn't happen, Francis.

Fact is that Smith's effort on the play was lacking. He didn't come back for the ball. He waited for it to get to him and got boxed out by a guy 50lbs lighter than him. You're inability to acknowledge that is astounding.

Unfortunately it seems to me like Jonnu does not have great body control on contested throws down the field. I've seen this a few times this year.

His strength is screens and these quick throws. They keep doing dumb things like make him a blocker on 70% of snaps or run routes like a WR. If he ran Bolden's plays he would look pretty good. Right now his $14M cap in 2022 is going to look horrible.

Maybe Feleipe should go pitch for the Sox? :p

I'm watching the replay, aus...early 2nd quarter...Barmore ,so far, is the best player on the field on D for either team. Mac has overshadowed Barmore's progress but this kid is nails
I'm coming around to the disruptive Seymour parallels except Barmore seems to have a nastier attitude... and I love it.

N'Keal 2 for 2 for 15 yards, nice 9 yard grab...baby steps I guess
Doesn't look like he'll pass his personal best of 33 receptions last year.

Just read through the thread and going to watch the game now. Also had a look at the game book and my first thought was....wow so many field goals what happened to the offence !!.........Regardless of what happened , its another win

Such a strange game. Defense was insane. But the offense scores 19 points against a defense that averages giving up 29 points a game. I thought the offense took a step backwards and looked like the earlier season version. If the offense plays like this next week, it’s a loss. But I always say, a win is a win, I don’t care about stats, don’t care if Mac threw for 1 yard, or 100, as long as they win. And 25-0 is pretty awesome.

Defense gets a really good test the next 4 games. Hopefully they show up big time. LOVED what they did tonight. So good, that the the opening field goal was a game winner. Just incredibly dominant. So much fun to see.

5 wins in a row, outscoring their opponents 175-50 over that stretch (holy schnickes). For math fans, that’s an average score of 35-10. That’s incredibly dominant.

Mac shouldn't have made the throw, but I agree that Jonnu could have done more to prevent the int.
Just a bad decision by Mac. Almost triple coverage on that play. I think Mac just has to throw it away. There was still a chance the Falcons could make it a game at that moment.

The Godchaux-Barmore-Judon triumvirate is giving me masculine feelings. Damn, it's good to have a punishing Front 7 again. This really does look like the 2001 Pats.

I'd toss in Guy and Davis, too. They're part of why that DL is stout at the moment.

Davis was disappointing in the LAC game but really came on in the weeks since then.

17:48 about, talks about Mac Int , analysis

The offense shot itself in the foot several times with penalties. The heat on Mac Jones was back. Gotta hand it to the Falcons' defense. They found the pass blocking weaknesses and exploited them repeatedly. Shooting a gap with a corner or safety was effective all night. This is when James White is missed. Stephenson and Harris are bruising power runners but not great in blitz pick up. I want to go back and look at the formations when the Falcons chose corner or safety blitzes. My guess is that neither Bolden nor Johnson were in the backfield.

I also feel bad for Matty Ice in his last year in the league. That's not a well-constructed team on offense and the injuries to his top weapons are unfortunate. I did not know that he has the highest ever passer rating in a Super Bowl for his performance building the infamous 28-3 lead in SB LI.
