Rex Ryan: "Bill Belichick... this is the best job he's ever done coaching"

Rex says Mac is "smart" and that is "intangible"???

Did he even watch a tiny bit of his college career?

His "smartness" was very "tangible", "football guys" like Rex just are too dumb to have that in their evaluation.

They end up picking players like Sanchez who is/was as "dumb" as a QB could be at a major school, yet had some nice measurables.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Rex is such a tool.

Obviously, Brady got better with more experience and retooling his body. But that is not what I am saying. I am talking about a weakness that is glaring and exploitable to the point that you can throw Jones completely off his game if you exploit it well enough. He has one. But we don't know what it is yet.

BTW, talking about 2001 Brady. I am confident now I would take probably take 2021 Jones over 2001 Brady to be the QB of the Pats today. I do tend to doubt that I will take any version of Jones over 2007 or 2016 Brady, but I hope I am wrong.
According to the experts, Mac's weakness is that he doesn't run a 4.3 forty.

It's more pertinent to 2022 and beyond. it becomes a problem for anyone who understands math. But you can cry later when someone explains to you later why we can't afford to keep JC Jackson.
Don't blame math for a faulty premise.

If JCJ walks it's because he's asking for more than Bill thinks he's worth, not because Bill can't find the cap space to keep him.

This team if not for the Miami blunder would control it's own destiny for HFA. Looking at Tennessee's schedule it's somewhat hard to envision them dropping a game to any one but us. But given the way things have played out over the past few weeks serves as a reminder of any given Sunday.

With that said if NE holds court and wins out they win the division and have an outside shot at the 1 seed. (Using the assumption the Pats win the non Buf and Ten games.) If they beat Ten and split with the Bills they still have a good shot at the division and the 2 seed.

The folks that overlooked how talented this team was at the beginning of the year are seeing it now. As Rob posted earlier in the thread, and as I stated before, they had to learn how to win. They had to cleanup the uncharacteristic penalties at crucial moments and stop putting the ball on the ground. They seemed to have figured that out.

How do you figure they don't control their own destiny for HFA? They have 1 Conference loss. Every other team other than the Titans has at least 2. The Chargers, Raiders, Bengals, and Steelers all have 2. The Ravens and Bills each have 3.

The Browns game was HUGE as was the Chargers game when it comes to tie breakers. The Titans game and the Bills games are huge as well in the scheme of things but they Pats have an even chance in all 3 of those games. Both games against the Bills will determine who wins the division.

If the Pats win both Games against the Bills, the Pats take the division but end up tied with the Bills, the Pats still take the division because of head-to-head. And that is the case even if the Pats were to lose the Miami game.

If the Pats beat the Titans and they end up tied with the Titans, the Pats would be seeded ahead of them.

The Miami game only factors in to HFA if the Pats don't get business done. But that is them controlling their destiny.

3/15 is a "big contract" for a WR in what universe?

The universe occupied by unhappy-with-life D-bag “Pats fans“ who are only happy when they are complaining, usually about things that are fabricated by their own warped minds.

One of the very best things about this winning streak is the fact that it has dramatically reduced the posts by fellowship of the miserable balloon knots who fit that description on this site. Their football misery is like an ice-cold beer hot summer day for me.

If it comes down to we can't afford JC in the future because we have Wynn, Agholor, Jonnu, Godchaux tied up for 45M, then it absolutely becomes an issue.

.

Agholor is butter fingers.

Could have signed a cheaper speedster for the same 1-2 catches a game. But they were desperate to respond in FA after TB12 won his 7th ring.

.
Please name the cheaper speedster who takes safety help with him on every moderate-to-deep route.

Byrd was never doubled. Agholor is rarely not.

I would like to know another WR in the league that could wipe out Myles Garret One-on-One....

1. I know you're happy since you've been defending NKeal Harry as a 1st round pick consistently.
2. To be fair before we declare NKeal the next Shannon Sharpe, he basically took out Garrett from the side/back and Garrett didn't even see him. It was almost like a blindside special teams block.

.

LOL at posters who won’t let Harry go. He’s the worst WR I have ever seen who will be off the team at the end of the year. His “blocking” ability can we duplicated by any backup tight end
Please show us game tape of a "any back-up TE" on another team handling Myles Garrett One-on-One. We'll wait.....

With Smith's contract, there is no way to reallocate next year's salary. His 2022 ($9 Million) & part of 2023 ($6.25 Million) are guranteed. The only way they could move on from him next year is to eat his contract to the tune of about $26 Million in dead money.
That's false. They can turn money into signing bonus or they can change the contract like the Browns did with OBJ..

The Pats aren't moving on from him.. People need to stop judging players new to the Pats system so harshly after just a few games. (and no, not saying you, Bresna. Others)

Diagnosis given in the announcement that he was released from hospital and returning to Cleveland was a cervical neck sprain. So, exactly as you surmised.
I'm glad it was just that. The fact that he could move his hands and feet before they got him to the ambulance was a good thing.

Please name the cheaper speedster who takes safety help with him on every moderate-to-deep route.

Byrd was never doubled. Agholor is rarely not.

This is great, please keep defending a $12m/year guy catching 1-2 balls a game. By the way the dime Mac threw that Agholor gave up on doesn't technically count as a drop.

Yeah, we had to re-run the play several time where I was watching it to see how he injured himself, but yes that is exactly how he did it. It didn't help that the announcers were talking about him getting kneed to the chest.
I was thoroughly disgusted with Ian Eagle's commentating on the situation. Especially when it was plainly obvious when they pulled the in-stadium cart away and put Hill on the stretcher with the Paramedics there. Maybe they're instructed to downplay it, but saying "They're taking him back to the locker-room" when it's clear he's being taken to an ambulance to be taken to a hospital is just irresponsible in my opinion.

Also, I think CBS shouldn't have come back before he was taken off the field. To me, that's would just be agony for his family if they're watching him be carted off by stretcher.. Though, a team rep might have already been on the phone with them..

Meyers was 4/4 49 yesterday.
Bourne was 4/4 98
Henry was 4/4 37
Agholor was 2/4 21, +2 10+ DPIs. Of the two misses, one wasn't close, and the other was just a bit overthrown by Jones, into double coverage, that might well have been a TD if it was about a foot shorter.
Oh, Bolden was 3/3 38
Harry 1/1 26 (anyone notice that he's catching everything thrown near him?)
Stevenson 4/5 14

So, if you play the Bills, job 1 is stopping Diggs. If you play the Pats, who are you focusing on?

Which is kind of the point.

Who's Jones favorite receiver?? "The one who's open". This was the mantra for the 1st 4 years of the Patriots dynasty.. It changed when the Pats got Welker/Moss. It Morphed when they had Amendola, Gronk, Squirrel..

If they can get Jones in the habit of adjusting to whichever receiver (good or bad) that is open , then he'll be a better QB for it..

They'd better figure it out with Jonnu because $12M/year is a disaster if they can't use him well. As you said, 4 years, can't cut him or trade him without a massive massive cap hit. So yes better figure it out.
Please STFU. Per usual;, you don't have the first clue what you are talking about. While Smith hasn't been a game-breaker yet, the fact you're writing him off after 8 games is laughable. It shows the kind of pathetic joke you are. You have zero ability to evaluate talent or understand the game of football, yet you run your mouth like you actual know what you are talking about.

The Pats can eject Smith after the 3rd year. Hell, they could eject him after the 2nd year for a savings of $1M.. But they won't need to do that because it's likely that Smith will be productive by then.

Instead of being ignorant and mocking the people who ACTUALLY know football, maybe you should try learning something from them. But that would mean you'd have to put your ego aside for a change.. Which I don't think you're capable of doing.
