Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread: Pats destroy the Browns

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

I'll accept all the eggs you can throw at my face. Early on, I was thoroughly unimpressed with the coaching but now, gee whiz, is every unit performing, clear vindication for the process.
I recall you having some criticisms but level-headed ones.

Not like NEM Jr or the Anti-BB crowd.

Yeah, that announcement from the sideline reporter was good news. I wanted to reach through the screen and B**CH slap Ian Eagle when he said they put Hill on the stretcher to just take him back to the locker room.. I said during the GDT thread that he was being taken to the hospital as soon as I saw them putting him on the stretcher.
How did he get hurt, did he hit the ground trying the tackle?

Mac must have felt like he was back at Alabama playing Western Carolina.
Except he didn’t play a crappy team last year, it was an all SEC schedule.

I thought it moved when it hit the ground
It is specifically allowed to move on contact with the ground, provided the player had control before the ground and maintained control after it hit the ground.

Here is the actual wording:

COMPLETED OR INTERCEPTED PASS

A player who makes a catch may advance the ball. A forward pass is complete (by the offense) or intercepted (by the defense) in the field of play, at the sideline, or in the end zone if a player, who is inbounds:

a. secures control of the ball in his hands or arms prior to the ball touching the ground; and

b. touches the ground inbounds with both feet or with any part of his body other than his hands; and

c. after (a) and (b) have been fulfilled, performs any act common to the game (e.g., tuck the ball away, extend it forward, take an additional step, turn upfield, or avoid or ward off an opponent), or he maintains control of the ball long enough to do so.

Notes:

  1. Movement of the ball does not automatically result in loss of control.
  2. If a player, who satisfied (a) and (b), but has not satisfied (c), contacts the ground and loses control of the ball, it is an incomplete pass if the ball hits the ground before he regains control, or if he regains control out of bounds

Understandable .. process is such an unimpressive word

Dont think so. I believe agenda is Latin. So plural should be agendae. I think -i is plural of -us words. Alumnus alumni.
Potato potahto. Tomato tomahto. Ive never met a human being who sez potahto. Dont think id want to.

No. The singular is "agendum" (thing to do) -- neutral -- and "agenda" is plural (things to do). Like "referendum" (singular) and "referenda" (plural).

"-a" can be either the singular first declension nominative (this is the case you're describing) or the plural third declension nominative (this is the case "agenda" actually falls under). The singular third declension nominative is "-um", making it "agendum".

But I never understood why we have to apply Latin grammar rules when we're speaking English. It's agenda and agendas if you ask me.

What a great win today!

defense started slowly and then played lights out again! I know this sounds strange, but I think they can play better still in the weeks to come. They have been better and better each game

can not say enough about Jones’s play today. He was amazing at reading the defense pre and post snap. Almost all his decisions were spot on today. He made a lot of throws today with total confidence.

the running game was really physical today. Cleveland seemed to be caught off guard by that.

no let down versus Atlanta. We need to spank them and stay undefeated in the road!

I made a small reference to Joker's post, but I feel the full monty is necessary

So as it turns out... The Patriots can still play some good football.

Rhamondre Stevenson also stole my lunch money, he's a bully.

I'm no expert on agenda. I know "male" is agenda. And female is agenda. But today there seems to be many other agendas as well. Hard to keep with them all
