Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Pats Destroy the Jets

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

He might have gotten Lance if he’d stayed put at #12.
with at detroit 7 carolina 8 denver 9 and chicago at 11 all in need of a qb?

i dunno about that

Word was Shanahan loved Jones and as things went along the front office overthought things and started to fall in love with Lance. And then Shanahan gave in.
verified word is kyle shanahan has complete roster control in sf... if he wanted jones, jones would be in sf

Yep. He held out for more money so to get more in case of injury. Big whoop.

But knowing he was going to the Jests....Smart.
I didn’t know about a holdout. I thought the salaries were set?

My beef with these prospects is that they don’t do their homework on how these organizations are run and who the major players are at HC, front office and the Owner. How does Wilson not realize what had happened to Sanchez and Darnold before him? I think the answer is most of these players are oblivious to what many fans see.

Details here.

No matter who you play , putting up 50 is impressive. And that’s really not a bad defense we did it against.

Ol is the key. I think harris has run well all year and mac has done well too, but you see the difference for both of them when we are controlling the LOS. This will determine playoffs or no playoffs. Those 2 could have great years with solid ol play and really make a name for themselves.

3-4 isnt the end of the world, now its onto sd and a chance to make a statement. Just hope we find some answers for the cb depth next week. We got away with it against the jets but doubt we will against the chargers. Huge game, i cant wait.

Yeah maybe not…it’s just didn’t think many teams saw Lance as a must have. We’ll never know, but it seems trading up was totally insane.

the salary is basically set by the cap and draft slot... but things like when the bonus is paid, how much of the bonus is paid- upfront or spread out, injury/skill guarantee offsets etc not so much, are negotiable

Interesting, I didn’t know that.

It's strange to me how on this forum, where 99% of posters (you and me both included) just operate off pure emotion and intuitive beliefs of how football works, you have such an obsession with the one poster who consistently backs his positions up with data and tape.
I had a couple of obsessive posters a while ago as it seemed like these posters had alerts whenever I posted and I’d have notifications from them instantly after I posted.

I’m glad they don’t post here anymore.

Just wanted to point out that as of 6:18 PM, Bolden is currently the #4 RB in fantasy football this week.

I find that funny.

Was at Disney today so haven’t seen the game yet other than the first drive, but sounds like OL was great. We should stick to this five man linemen barring really poor play or injuries.

Need to build some continuity and should reward the guys showing up to work and playing well. Maybe try to plug Trent in later if he’s ever healthy and we have a weak link to plug, but I wouldn’t do it as long as the 5 we have right now are playing well.

As a team, Pats had 403 passing yards today, most in the regular season since week 2 of 2017 ( exluding Eagles SB game)

Put another way, today had more passing yards than last years games versus Rams, Chargers, cardinals and Bills second game COMBINED!!!!

Interesting, I didn’t know that.
a few years ago leigh steinberg wrote an article about it... it wasn't too in depth, but it was an informative read

If what the run game and OL did this week is for real- our chances next week look brighter. Chargers run defense isn’t very good.

Very excited that we finally figured out our offensive line!

glad to see what Jones can do when he isn’t panting under the threat of death from poor offensive line play.
