It's easy, and only takes a few moments. But who's responsible for the talent-deficient roster? We're not even a full year removed from Belichick getting 7 wins - going 7-8 with a qb who four times failed to muster even a hundred yards passing - with one of the most talent-deficient rosters I can remember. Forget the HOF, I would give him a Nobel Prize or something.
I must have missed the change in the definition of legacy. No matter whether you love Bill or hate him, its hard and sad to see his legacy get ripped to shreds like this. As the mediocrity continues it will only get worse.
Much like Tom Landry decades ago, Bill Belichick mystique is falling apart | Opinion
No coach in the modern era of pro sports was built by one person more than New England’s Bill Belichick.www.yahoo.com
Is he really though? He is an all time great for sure but GOAT? What exactly makes Bill stand out from guys like Landry, Lombardi, Brown, Shula and the rest of them? I've asked this before and it's still not clear to me.Poor guy
Okay but seriously.... even with the criticism, he'll still be a HOF, and people are still defending him and saying he's the GOAT coach.
They're not going anywhere. Sports media has been a thing since gladiators were fighting in the Collesuem.
Not clear? Is he really though? He is an all time great for sure but GOAT? What exactly makes Bill stand out from guys like Landry, Lombardi, Brown, Shula and the rest of them? I've asked this before and it's still not clear to me.
Sure he has the most rings but that is a team accomplishment not an individual accomplishment.
Who assembled that talent deficient roster? If you’re giving credit to the coach, give criticism to the Gm who gave him that productWe're not even a full year removed from Belichick getting 7 wins - going 7-8 with a qb who four times failed to muster even a hundred yards passing - with one of the most talent-deficient rosters I can remember. I don't know...other than rings I guess. But that's a team accomplishment. If BB decided to stay with the Jets years ago would he even have one ring? Not clear?
What is your criteria to determine which coach is to be considered GOAT?

I think you can make an argument for any one of the all time great coaches to be the greatest, including an argument for BB. But if you can do that then it's hard to say for sure that one guy is the greatest.
I'd like to think BB is GOAT but that's only because I'm a Pats fan. IMO saying Brady is GOAT QB is much more clear cut than saying BB is GOAT coach. I can't make any argument for any other QB over Brady. But I can for say, Lombardi over Bill. And vice versa. It's a tough one.
if ring's are a team accomplishment, then you agree that Brady has zero wins in his career, also?
You know, it's funnny. Is he really though? He is an all time great for sure but GOAT? What exactly makes Bill stand out from guys like Landry, Lombardi, Brown, Shula and the rest of them? I've asked this before and it's still not clear to me.

Are you saying that BB isn't the GOAT GM? lol, we won't get involved in that discussion....Coach no argument, GM.? LOLWho assembled that talent deficient roster? If you’re giving credit to the coach, give criticism to the Gm who gave him that product
Rings are a team accomplishment, not an individual accomplishment. QB and coach are part of the team. Belichick as HC has 6 rings, Brady has 7.if ring's are a team accomplishment, then you agree that Brady has zero wins in his career, also?
Absolutely. BB had a built in advantage of the GOAT QB on his roster. Now that the advantage is gone, Bill has come back to the pack a bit.So overall, Belichick had a luxury with Brady. It made it so that Belichick didn't have to micromanage things the way other coaches have to. He could focus more on defense and special teams, he didn't have to nail the draft every year to keep the team afloat.
BB built AND coached the team.I don't know...other than rings I guess. But that's a team accomplishment.
